6.55pm The teams are making their way out for the anthems. The Pakistan national anthem first. Pakistan are represented well in the crowd today, as they have been through this tournament. A good turnout.
AZ: "I would have to say it is pretty unfortunate to not have Razzaq in this team. He did make 22 crucial runs last match."
Umar: "Dilshan has problems with left hand seamers - no wonder they brought Sohail Tanvir in...lets hope it pays...short bowling to him!"
"You'd have to say, [in terms of] the natural cricketers who have come through in the last 15 to 20 years, Pakistan is way ahead of every other country" - This is what Ian Chappell had to say on our show Time Out, in conversation with Harsha Bhogle and David Hopps. Hopps fancied Sri Lanka to go all the way, while Chappell thinks West Indies will take some beating if they get their bowling right.
James: "Very surprised Razzaq has been left out, given Pakistan's "variable" batting. Afridi needs to pull something out of the bag for me. He's been poor with both bat and ball in this tournament so far. Now comes the big stage."
Ravi B reminds us: "Today is the 16th anniversary of Afridi's fastest ODI century against Sri Lanka. If he does half as good as that, it will help Pakistan going a long way in reaching the final for the third time in four editions."
