FURIOUS vigilantes beat an alleged “child rapist and killer” to within an inch of his life following India’s latest horrifying sex attack.
Local residents grabbed the accused youth “soon after” the six-year-old girl’s body was found wrapped in a blood-soaked cloth, according to reports.

Video footage was shared on social media of the brutally beaten suspect, who was taken to hospital for treatment
Odisha Sun Times said there was “yet another heinous and inhumane act of a rape of a minor girl” in Odisha, near West Bengal on the eastern coast of India.
She was allegedly raped and killed after being lured from her home by a neighbour in Gopabandhu Nagar late yesterday, it added.
Unnamed sources told Odisha Times that the accused had taken the victim to an isolated place before allegedly assaulting and killing her.
The youth alleged to have raped and murdered the girl was said to have been “thrashed black and blue”, leaving him with serious injuries.
Grisly video footage shows the youth with his hands bound behind his back, while he was punched and kicked by a furious mob.
He was taken in a critical condition to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Odisha Times reported that this morning “irate locals” staged a protest in front of Jatni police station, and organised a road block by burning tyres.
Residents have demanded strong action from cops.
Bhubaneswar deputy commissioner of police, Anup Sahoo, said the youth is currently in police custody and is expected to be charged, with legal action launched against him “soon”.
Sahoo added: “A special team will be formed to investigate the incident since it is a sensitive case.”
The six-year-old's rape and murder is the latest in a horrific string of brutal attacks upon young girls across India.
None of the media reports explain why local residents assumed the man they beat up was involved in her attack and murder.
There have been numerous articles on
mob assaults upon suspected rapists or child kidnappers in India - some of which were later proved to be unfounded.
