I live in Germany and local election going to takes place on March 27, 2011. Masha'Allah, in our Distric there are many Ahmadi Muslims, who are entitled to vote. One years ago we wanted to build a Mosque. We had already reserved land by a Invester, and also obtained legal and regulatory approval of the construction authorities, but our mayor rejected our proposal and said: "we should bury our plan to build a Mosque!" His statement really annoyed me, but that could not stop me from my purpose to build a Mosque for our community. Alhamdulillah, I have been so keen to my goal, and I've always prayed and hoped that Allah the Almighty will someday make this possible for us. See, time passed away... from this day 4 weeks before I came back home from office my dad showed me my election notification for local election. We ate together and discussed politics as usual and which parties going to run for election. In this election I saw our chance to change things. One or two day later I discussed with a friend and we were very quick to agree that this is our chance to bring about the opportunity for change...! We contacted the party leaders of all major parties running for election and invited them for a panel discussion with our Muslim community.
Alhamdulillah, on March 16, 2011 the panel discussion took place and was conducted by brother Muhammad Hamad Martin Hrter (a German Ahmadi Muslim). It is a tradition of Ahmadiyya Jamaat, that all event starts with a recitation of the Holy Quran with German translation or with Dua. After a short introduction about the Ahmadiyya Jamaat the penal discussion began... the politicians answered the questions from the audience to integration, children and youth, or the construction of a mosque. Alhamdulillah, yesterday I've learned that the mayor has offered us a piece of land of which we never wish to dream. Alhamdulillah.
With this little effort I just wanted to say that things will never change on its own...you've to tackle it. As long as you guys don not stop goofing other party-leaders or their voters, forecasting or putting on-line polls, nothing will change in Pakistan. Revolution will not be televised. You will never experience higher standards of living, and spiralling cycle of prosperity or demanding a political change from sitting at home and analysing the situation from bedroom or living-room. If you are a supporter of PTI, MQM, APML, PPP, PML-N/Q, ANP, JUI etc. then go out and mobilize the masses peacefully for your party and ideas.
