LAHORE: Former Pakistani wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haidar questioned the defeat in semi-final of the World Cup 2011 against India and asked the higher authorities to probe the poor performance of the players.

In his status on social networking website Facebook, he asked the higher management of Pakistan cricket team to investigate the poor performance of the players during the big match. He said who had criticised him in the past and declared him a psycho patient be asked to probe the incumbent team players.

He said the players should take oath on the holy Quran that they were not involved in any kind of match fixing. He said he would soon expose the Pakistani players who were involved in match fixing.

Earlier, he claimed that some Pakistani players were involved in match fixing but due to threats by unidentified bookies he did not reveal the names of those players. Last year, Zulqarnain abandoned the Pakistani team during a series against South Africa at a neutral place.

He said he went to London as he received life threats from some unknown bookies. Instead of probing the matter, Pakistan Cricket Board termed him a psycho patient.

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider has accused the Akmal brothers, Kamran and Umar, of influencing matters within the Pakistan cricket team after their loss to India in the semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2011, at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali.
Haider stated, “I am not surprised by the defeat because they are groups operating in the team and they don't allow any player to settle down unless he succumbs to them. The same thing happened to me.”
He further accused, “Players are not allowed to settle into the team if they don't go along with a group. That is the reason why Kamran is still in the team despite poor performances. No other keeper would be retained in the team if he dropped the number of catches Kamran has dropped.”
Haider replaced Kamran in the national team, but left his team during a One-Day International (ODI) series against South Africa, claiming that he had received life threats. This saw Kamran make a comeback in the team.
The Pakistan cricket team has been engulfed in a number of controversies over the past few months and Kamran too has been under the scanner on a number of occasions. The veteran wicketkeeper has not done a great job behind the stumps for his team either, as he has a history of dropping catches, which have changed the course of the match completely.
There was a question mark over Kamran’s inclusion in the World Cup squad after his dismal show against England both with the bat and gloves. However, he managed to make it to the final 15 member squad for the tournament, and no other reserve keeper was named in the squad.
This made things difficult for the Men in Green, as Kamran dropped a number of catches in the Mega Event, especially against New Zealand in a Pool match of the tournament.
On the other hand, Umar didn’t disappoint his team like his brother, as he scored some consistent runs in the World Cup. He played a crucial part in the team’s success against Australia, which ended their dominant run in World Cups.
However, both the Akmal brothers failed to make a big impression in the semi-final clash against India. They got starts to their innings, but failed to build on them and lead their team to victory.

KARACHI: Refugee wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider has accused the Akmal brothers of controlling things in the Pakistan team after their 29-run defeat to India in the World Cup semifinal.Haider said he was not surprised by Pakistan's defeat and raised questions over the performance of the team in Mohali last night, particularly since fixing had been a part of Pakistan cricket culture."I am not surprised by the defeat because they are groups operating in the team and they don't allow any player to settle down unless he succumbs to them. The same thing happened to me," Haider told the Dunya news channel from London after the match last night.He claimed that one of the reasons for his leaving the national team was the harassment meted out by this group particularly Kamran Akmal's younger brother, Umar Akmal."Umar Akmal used to say things to me after which I decided to leave the team," Haider said but promised to reveal more details about the incident later."No one is allowed to settle into the team unless they are supported by a group and that is what happened to me. Players are not allowed to settle into the team if they don't go along with a group. "That is the reason why Kamran is still in the team despite poor performances. No other keeper would be retained in the team if he dropped the number of catches Kamran has dropped," he added.Haider fled the Pakistan team hotel in Dubai last November during a one-day series against South Africa for which Kamran was dropped.He has claimed that he fled after being threatened by a person who wanted him to be part of a fixing racket. Haider fled to London and has now sought asylum from the United Kingdom government.The wicketkeeper felt his stance on fixing had been vindicated after the semi-final result."How can you win a match when you drop three to four catches in one match," he said.Haider also alleged that some national selectors took money from players to select them."I would ask the Pakistan cricket board, government and ICC to look into the assets of the selectors to get to the bottom of the truth," he added.Haider who scored 80 runs on test debut last year in England had also played a match-winning innings against South Africa in the fourth one-day international before fleeing the team hotel ahead of the fifth and final match.The keeper is living in difficult conditions in London as the Pakistan cricket Board has also refused to release payments due to him insisting it will not make payments until Haider returns to Pakistan and faces charges of violating the players code of conduct.

Im not a fan of Kakmal and it seems they have a lobby which they utilize to their benefit but then again this is something PCB should do be monitoring. If anyone has any evidence against them they should step up and present it otherwise its no use barking like Sarfraz Nawaz and the gang who have never come up with anything concrete except 'reports' and 'inside sources' who tell him about fixing of the color of the underwear the players are supposed to wear before each match.

Zulqarnain is a big big looser.
As far as pak lost is concerned. Yesterday I thought that misbah played the misrebale inning. But Now I am thinking that if asad,YK,UA, any one tried to made partnership we will win the match easily.
Some of teh reason for out lost are:
1) Our ground fielidng, drop catches & gul bowling but other bowlers really bowled well & negate all those mistakes.
2) 260 can be acheiveable as we acehive in 92 semi final against the home team i.e NZ.
But for this we need 2 good partnerships b/w top 5.
May be we lack javaid & inzi innings.
UA can play the Inzi role.

The main reason I think is that:
Our players got panic very early. some dot balls put pressure on hafeez to play such a reckless shot. otherwsie we were on top at that time.
After tha we should try to build a partner but Yk, shafiq & UA didn't try to stay more on wkt. In modern cricket avg of 6-7 is not a big problem.

in 1992 semi final we were 82 for 2 in 22nd over.
But as I said we panic too early & played shots to loose wkts.
Dhoni also did well by putting more n more players inside ring.

Same argument have been raised by ZARDARI & his HAWAREE. No concrete proofs..
In Pakistan it is v easy to frame innocent person, but to expose such gangs you need lots of guts & support, which Zulqarnain lacks.
All these corrupts are backing each other & taking care of each other backs. They are united but on the other hand either we are puzzled, alone or waiting for proofs shining like SUN..
Hope for the best, but not so high. As new team might have been announced for West indies tour. All are there.. [hilar]

I don't know why people blaming Misbah, wickets were falling on other end, pressure builds up if he would have gone out playing an attacking/irresponsible shot everyone would have blamed team/him for fixing and losing badly, he anchored the innings he showed maturity and responsibility, problem was YK, AFRIDI AND RAZZAQ they all failed. We would have won game easily if anyone of them would have clicked.
