ISLAMABAD:
UK is considering resumption of British Airways flights to Pakistan to help reinvigorate friendly ties between the two countries.

The assurance was given by British Prime Minister David Cameron during a telephone call to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Friday.

Cameron told Prime Minister Gilani that his government was pro-actively pursuing Pakistans case with European Union for greater market access. He also said that his government is considering resumption of British Airways flights to Pakistan.

He stated that he would be writing to Prime Minister Gilani, on implementation of decisions taken during his visit to strengthen strategic relations.

Both leaders also discussed PM Gilanis forthcoming visit to Kabul on April 16, as well as the situation in Afghanistan.

British Airways halted all flights to Pakistan following the bombing of the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad in 2008.
