Twitter made an announcement on Wednesday, as we also reported yesterday that Twitter is letting go of locked accounts and hence locked accounts will no longer be included in people’s follower numbers.

Locked accounts are basically those accounts that Twitter froze but did not delete because it identified quick changes in user behavior such as tweeting a lot of unwanted replies or posting links as well as being blocked by many accounts after mentioning them

Pakistani celebrity Twitter users with massive followers also experienced the same decrease. Here are the most prominent Pakistani celebrities on Twitter and the number of followers they lost.

Umar Saif
Chairman PITB, Umar Saif lost a whopping 200k followers. Before the crackdown his followers’ count was 295K but now it stands at 80K only. There can be two reasons for that either fake accounts were bought to increase the user base, or the media team of PITB instead of doing the right ad campaign awarded it to some agency which was managing fake accounts.

Hamza Ali Abbasi
Well, Hamza Ali Abbasi, the most active and sometimes, no actually most of the times, a controversial social media figure lost 7.5k followers and now has 1.59 M followers.

Maryam Nawaz
Maryam lost 30k followers and this small figure is quite unexpected as the followers she has, are touching a figure of 5 M.

Shoaib Malik
Shoaib Malik, the most favorite and admired cricketer of Pakistan lost 138k followers which seems like quite a big loss. But worry not, he still has 1.7M followers.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari
Bilawal did not experience any major loss in this crackdown against frozen accounts, to be honest. He only lost 17k followers and now has 2.74 M avid followers

Amir Khan
Well, the world champion in boxing got 123k followers knocked out from his list which I would definitely call a big loss for the celeb and now he has 2.2M followers.

Reham Khan
Reham Khan, who just released her book today lost just 9k followers which is quite a small figure as compared to the expected loss she could have experienced considering the hate she was experiencing after her book got published.

The loss is minimal. Look at Fake Bill Gates of Punjab Umar Saif the front man of Salman Shahbaz:ROFLMAO:

most of the celebrities spent thousands of dollars to buy these fake accounts

Adeel it's not the Fake likes, it's what these get you.

It's A WHITE COLLAR crime.

Because of this,
  1. People are invited to conferences
  2. Given govt. positions
  3. Investment advisor positions etc.

Criss-cross that with the above and see the benefits some of the biggest losers attained. This evidence can lead to financial corruption using social influence.

Right. But he is not a bureaucrat. ...... He is a tech hit-man.

these things are very hard to publicly present bcz most people are not technically competent even technical people aren't well read to know the difference btw. Licensed Software vs Open Source.

While people that are paid through back channels by big companies like Microsoft to use their technology so they can take millions of dollars from the pockets of Pakistani's FOREVERRRRRRR as long as their technology is used to run enterprise govt. level system where the money really is.

How this IT chief of Punjab was doing self promotion and having lifafa journalists write articles on him, and how he misattributed some international title to him, it was clear he is yet another showbaaz.

So what can you do about it. PTI will most probably keep him in power.
