Google search shortcuts

Google's search box can be used to get quick results for time, weather, conversions, and even celebrity stats and team schedules. Here's how:

PTime: Type the name of the city/country after the word time

- Search term: time Lahore

- Result: 9:02pm Thursday (PKT) - Time in Lahore, Pakistan

-Weather: Enter the word weather followed by the city/zip code

- Search term: weather Lahore

- Result: Weather for Lahore, Pakistan: 9C, Current: Smoke, Wind: N at 0 mph, Humidity: 76%

-Converter: To convert between different units of measurement, type the number in the first unit, followed by =? and then the desired unit of conversion.

- Search term: 1 tablespoon = ? teaspoons

- Result: 1 Imperial tablespoon = 3 Imperial teaspoons

-Currency conversion: Google's converter can also be used for currency conversions.

- Search term: 1 US Dollar = ? Pakistani Rupees

- Result: 1 U.S. dollar = 84.2176183 Pakistan Rupees

-Celebrity stats: To find out more about your favourite celebrity, enter their name followed by the required stat.

- Search term: Kurt Cobain height

- Result: Kurt Cobain -- Height: 5' 10''

-Sports schedules: Searching for the name of football and baseball teams gives their latest scores and upcoming games.

- Search term: Manchester United

- Result: Last game: Manchester United 5 - 0 Wigan, 31 Dec; Next game: vs. Leeds United, English FA Cup, 3 Jan 6:00pm

Google & Microsoft Search.

1. Definitions - Pull up the definition of the word by typing define followed by the word you want the definition for. For example, typing: define bravura would display the definition of that word.

2. Local search - Visit Google Local enter the area you want to search and the keyword of the place you want to find. For example, typing: restaurant at the above link would display local restaurants.

3 .Phone number lookup - Enter a full phone number with area code to display the name and address associated with that phone number.

4. Find weather - Type weather followed by a zip code or city and state to display current weather conditions and forecasts for up coming-days.

5. Track airline flight - Enter the airline and flight number to display the status of an airline flight and its arrival time. For example, type: delta 123 to display this flight information if available.

6. Track packages - Enter a UPS, FedEx or USPS tracking number to 7. Pages linked to you - See what other web pages are linking to your website or blog by typing link: followed by your URL. For example, typing link: 8. Find PDF results only - Add file type: to your search to display results that only match a certain file type. For example, if you wanted to display PDF results only type: "dell xps file type: PDF -- this is a great way to find on line manuals.

9. Calculator - Use the Google Search engine as a calculator by typing a math problem in the search. For example, typing: 100 + 200

10. Stocks - Quickly get to a stock quote price, chart, and related links by typing the stock symbol in Google. For example, typing: misfit will display the stock information for Microsoft.
