Be careful not to consume too much Ice Cream because its not Ice Cream as we think it is.

Popular Ice Cream brands such as Wall's products are not milk based ice cream but rather vegetable fat based frozen desserts.

We have grown up thinking that delicious Ice Cream is made from milk and cream but on the contrary big brands have less of Milk and more oil in their products that's why Walls have re positioned their product as "Deserts" and not "Ice Cream".

The Oil is not only industrially cheap, it is also unhealthy. Used in margarines, lipstick and detergents, this yellow liquid is high in saturated fat, a known cause of cardiovascular problems.


On the other hand, Omore has more of Milk derivatives then Walls but in future no one can predict whether they will retain the natural ingredients mix as they have today in their products.

So its back to basics such as Chaman Ice Cream in Lahore or Rajoo in Karachi or the Peshawari Ice Cream in Sarhad.

The High Court in its decsiion a few years back has barred WALLS from using the word Ice Cream as according to Pakistan Food Rules, Ice Cream must contain Milk. So now WALLS uses the word "Milk Ice" as the main ingredient in most of its products to acknowledge that its products are not Ice Creams.

Yummy and HICO and perhaps Omore as well do sell actual Ice Cream made from Milk.

No its not. You can even check Walls international product ingredient list. Secondly, its not only walls but a few international brands are also doing the same.

This is the reason Walls re positioned itself as a desert and not Ice Cream.

Big commercially produced Ice Cream brands such as Walls also infuse air in the product as Ice Cream is majorly sold by volume or atleast the product acquires a fuller look in the container
