Re: Libya: crusader aggression against Muslims, many dead

Your analysis and statements are wrong POPCORN, no one asked for any help infact rebels captured and deported british special forces soilders last month. Reasons behind western invasion AGAIN are yet unknown. It will become more clearer what is their motive, if they want to intervene/invade they should do it in Kashmir, bosnia, Palestine where there are worse kind of atrocities happening. US doesn't care about anyone and it's a joke when they come and pass human rights statements specially when they were exposed in Abugharib & Guantanamo also hundreds and thousands of civilians have died in invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. Where was west when Israel was bombing Palestinian kids and women with white phosphorus and selling their body parts. Their crime list goes on and on.

Gaddafi's letters to Obama and the UN. In case you didn't think he was on crack.

Watch Video here

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-12794591

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

A spokesman has read out a letter on behalf of the Libyan leader Col Gaddafi to US President Barack Obama, closely followed by one jointly aimed at France, the UK and the UN.

The tone of the messages was markedly different. The one to President Obama stuck a consolatory tone, while the other was more aggressive - accusing David Cameron, Nicholas Sarkozy and the Ban ki-Moon of meddling in Libyan affairs.

The statement, made by Mussa Ibrahim, came amid reports that Pro-Gaddafi tanks have entered the rebel stronghold of Benghazi.

West pounds Libya with air strikes

TRIPOLI: French air raids and US Tomahawk missiles pounded targets in Libya on Saturday, in an international campaign to prevent Muammar Qadhafi from crushing a month-old uprising against his rule.

US warships fired 110 Tomahawk cruise missiles into Libya, targeting Qadhafi`s air defence sites, a senior US military official said.

Two days after a UN Security Council resolution authorised military action, French planes carried out an initial attack, destroying several armoured vehicles of Qadhafi`s forces, the French military said.

Libyan media said Western warplanes bombed civilian targets in Tripoli, causing casualties, shortly after France`s launch of the multinational air campaign against Qadhafi.

State television said hundreds of people had gathered at Bab al-Aziziyah, Qadhafi`s Tripoli headquarters, and at the capital`s international airport, ahead of the widely anticipated air strikes.

Crowds are forming around the targets identified by France, the television reported, showing pictures of flag-waving people gathering to serve as human shields.

Britain also said its forces were in action on Saturday, as Russia`s foreign ministry expressed regret over the armed intervention under UN Resolution 1973 which was adopted in haste.

According to France`s army chief, a first French air strike took place around 1645 GMT against a Libyan vehicle clearly identified as belonging to pro-Qadhafi forces.

Within the next hour, French Rafale and Mirage 2000 fighter jets conducted three other strikes, destroying armoured vehicles of the Libyan forces in the eastern region of Benghazi, the rebels` stronghold, the military said.

The operations are to continue through the night, the military said.
In the rebel camp, celebratory gunfire and honking of car horns broke out in Al-Marj, 100km from Benghazi, to welcome the start of military operations against

Qadhafi, correspondents said.As thousands fled Benghazi amid an assault by Qadhafi loyalists earlier on Saturday, French President Nicolas Sarkozy told a summit of world leaders in Paris that his country`s fighters were poised to attack. But Sarkozy said Qadhafi could still avoid the worst if he complied with the Security Council resolution by implementing a ceasefire to allow the diplomatic door to reopen.

UN chief Ban Ki-moon, however, said he was troubled by a telephone call from the Libyan prime minister on Friday night. He told me that the Libyan government was fully abiding by the Security Council resolution and there will be an immediate ceasefire, said the secretary general. But at the same time and overnight they were attacking Benghazi. It is very troubling; whatever they say must be verified.

Since Friday, the Libyan government has insisted it was observing a self-declared ceasefire, shortly after the Security Council voted to authorise the use of force against Qadhafi`s troops to spare civilians.

The regime said its armed forces were under attack west of Benghazi, including by rebel aircraft, and had responded in self-defence.

On Saturday, Foreign Minister Mussa Kussa said Tripoli had met all its obligations under the UN resolution and asked Ban to send observers to monitor the ceasefire.

But the rebels, who have been trying to overthrow the Libyan leader for more than a month, said government troops had continued to bombard cities, violating the ceasefire continuously.AFP

At least 110 Tomahawk missiles fired at Libya: US

obama-libya-attack-AFP-543.jpg

WASHINGTON: US and British forces have fired at least 110 Tomahawk cruise missiles into Libya against Moamer Kadhafis air defense sites, a top US military officer said Saturday.

A US warship fired Tomahawk cruise missiles into Libya on Saturday, targeting Moamer Kadhafis air defense sites, a senior US military official said.

The US engaged with command and control logistics (and) cruise missiles in its first strikes near Libyas coast, because thats where the integrated missile defense systems are and of course te other air defense related facilities, notably around Tripoli and Misrata, the official said.

The US operation named Odyssey Dawn followed initial missions by French warplanes, which carried out four air strikes Saturday, destroying several armoured vehicles of Kadhafi forces.

Two US Navy destroyers and three US submarines were positioned in the Meditteranean near Libya, all of which are equipped with Tomahawk missiles.

No US ground troops will be sent into Libya, US President Barack Obama said Saturday after announcing he authorized the cruise missile strikes launched minutes earlier against strongman Moamer Kadhafis forces.

Today, I authorized the armed forces of the United States to begin a limited military action in Libya, said Obama, who is in Brazil on an official visit.

Western forces bombed fuel tanks feeding the rebel-held city of Misrata, east of Tripoli, on Saturday, a Libyan army spokesman said on state television.

The Crusader enemy has bombed fuel tanks feeding the city of Misrata and the surrounding regions, the spokesman said.

The report came as the United States and France announced the launch of air strikes on targets in Libya.

Earlier on Saturday, rebels in Misrata, 210 kilometres (130 miles) from the Libyan capital, said they had beaten back an assault by forces loyal to Libyan strongman Moamer Kadhafi.

Meanwhile the British Prime Minister David Cameron said on Saturday that British forces were in action over Libya as part of a UN-sanctioned intervention to stop

Moamer Kadhafis forces crushing an uprising,.
Tonight, British forces are in action over Libya. They are part of an international coalition that has come together to enforce the will of the United Nations and to protect the Libyan people, Cameron said.

We have all seen the appalling brutality that Colonel Kadhafi has meted out against his own people and far from introducing the ceasefire he spoke about he has actually stepped up the attacks and the brutality.Speaking after a meeting of the British governments emergency committee, COBRA, in London, he said of the military intervention: What we are doing is necessary, it is legal and it is right. The leader did not give any details on what form the British action, codenamed Operation Ellamy, was taking but he had announced on Friday that British Tornado and Typhoon fighter jets were being moved to bases near Libya.
Britain has an airbase at Akrotiri in Cyprus which could be used to launch attacks.

It also has two frigates, HMS Cumberland and HMS Westminster, already in the Mediterranean.

Camerons announcement came after a French warplane fired the first shot on a vehicle in Libya at 1645 GMT in an operation to enforce a UN resolution calling for a no-fly zone and protection of Libyans from Kadhafis forces.

The intervention is backed by Western countries and Arab allies.

Americans are not destroying Libya because of Ghaddafi. Wake up please. Ghaddafi is just a pawn in the chess game. Nor they are helping the peop;e of Libya. This is just the nature of yahood o nasara, not to let world live in peace. They have always been shar pasand.

After, Iraq, Syria, Libya probably has the most military power in the region. They want to break that power.

But of course yeh sub Allah ki taraf sey horaha. Yeh kisi toofan ka pesh kheema hai

They thinks that every thing is going according to plan, but.

And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers.

Despite all reservations on foreign military intervention in Libya, it's Gaddafi who is giving US & France a pretext to intervene. Corrupt visionless rulers destroy their nations. This is why we must act against corrupt, weak & compromised leaders in Pakistan. They should not have a future in tomorrow's Pakistan.AQ.

Lets not blame UN where it does not deserve the blame. Iraq war never approved or sanctioned by the UN. It was the the coalition "of the willing". They tried to bring in the UN latter to pickup the pieces.
