Traditional Muslims say that details cannot be found the Quran but only the Sunnah, even though the Quran itself says it a detailed book and does give details, for example in inheritance law and who one can and cannot marry and so on. Yes is totally devoid on any detail about one of the "key pillars" from one of the "five pillars of Islam" And if you disagree with them, first thing they will say Ok then tell how do you pray? Hence I have named them the "Ahl e How do you pray"
Well let's look into their claim that the hadith has all the details. First of all I couldn't find a single hadith that is an all out guide on salat, although there are some very long hadiths, almost a 1000 words long in the corpus. So one has to sift through 1000s of hadith through many books, some of them centuries apart, basically a cocktail of hadiths, just to cobble together what kind of loosely resembles todays salah of the traditional Muslims.
BUT no where can one find in any hadith, anywhere as to how many rakats are there in each prayer, 2 for fajr, 4 for zhur, 4 for asr, 4 for maghrib and 4 for isha. I came across this book, thinking maybe this would have it. The Forty Ahadith on Salat
But this also doesn't have it, checked Bukhari, Muslim also doesn't have it, searched the entire hadith database but the number of rakats hadith could not be found anywhere.
So tell me my Sunni and Shia friends, where did these number of rakats for each prayer come from????
