Lattakia is Asad's birth place and as per NEWS he intended to take refuge there after the freedom of Damascus. It seems he has to search for a new pit hole.

After making significant gains in Idlib province and the Lattakia countryside, the FSA pledges to enter Lattakia city in the 2nd video. I believe this means a new huge battlefront for Assad.
Can Assad's sectarian army take it? What does this mean from a military strategic point of view? Would it mean Assad would have to take troops from Aleppo, Homs, Damascus or other cities and governates to cover the troops needed in Lattakia?
