Even in Islamabad, when zardai was Minister Environment, cutting of Paper Mulberry trees was planned and the Ministry of Environment asked the then Ministry of Health (now Ministry of National Health Sciences, Regulation and Coordination) to find out the percentage of allergic people from Pollen of Paper Mulberry. I was given the task to find out how many allergic persons are allergic to Paper Mulberry. I analysed a retrospective data of 65,000 allergic patients who were tested and diagnosed at National Institute of Health in 11 months and found that only 0.3% of allergic patients were allergic to Paper Mulberry, while most of them were found allergic to house dust, cannabis, grasses and other trees pollen. However, as zardari had already negotiated with a contractor, he did not give heed to this report and thousands of trees were cut in Islamabad during zardari's tenure as Minister, Environment.
