Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced late on Thursday night that the evening Taraweeh prayers during the holy month of Ramazan will be restricted to 3-5 persons and the rest of the people will have to offer the prayers at home to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

In a video message, Shah said this "very difficult" decision was taken after consultation with doctors and President Arif Alvi, who last Saturday had announced after meeting ulema that congregational and Taraweeh prayers would be held in mosques during Ramazan while adhering to certain precautionary measures.

He said doctors at a press conference on Wednesday had cautioned that frontline healthcare workers will be helpless against the rapid spread of Covid-19 if large gatherings including congregational prayers are not stopped. Doctors from the Pakistan Medical Association in Punjab expressed similar concerns earlier on Thursday.

If a patient is in ICU then whose advice would you follow, Doctors or Ulmas ?
The best advice which has to be followed at the current moment is from senior doctors not by so called Ulmas. Murad Ali Shah refused Government 20 point agenda and followed doctors advice. This is what a good leader does.

PTI government refused doctors advice and listened to Ulmas. PTI also knows doctors are right but PTI also knows doctors have no street power. It is much easier to give a shut up call to doctors then to these Ulmas.

In the given circumstances; people should follow social distancing. Our nation has no patience. People should pray at home; avoid large gatherings. I can guarantee you that if tomorrow corona disappears from the world and mosques open then you will not see those people in the mosques who are demanding to open mosques now.

Virus doesn't discriminate where you are. Virus can spread quickly in larger gatherings whether you are in mosque, parks, shopping mall or marriage hall.

I agree with u,open Pakistan completely,let the herd immunity prevail,only older people will die as per Imran thinking.I feel Imran has a hidden thought to get rid of older people.

Sindh doctors are corrupt and to please the corrupt Sindh government they spoke lies and exaggerated the coronavirus impact on the society.

Here in Punjab the most senior doctors of Punjab got together and pleading and begging the Punjab government and the federal government to please cancel the agreement with the Ulma and must not open the mosques otherwise thousands would die .
What do you think now ? Should the Punjab government ignore Punjab's senior Doctors advice ? see at least few minutes of this press conference of Punjab senior doctors.

Taraweeh is not fardh so it is sensible to stop conregations while a pandemic is here. PTI will need to evaluate when the virus starts spreading quicker. Also the gap between namazis during prayer is not mentioned in any hadith afaik. The mullahs just want to make money.
