I have no illusions as to how deprived and underdeveloped Pakistan is but for the sake of the article I decided to limit my comments to Afghanistan.

USSR doesnt exist but Russia is still a global power and still holds every 'freed' state hostage to its whims. No one does anything without Putins consent in the centeral asian states.
