Sure but you're generalizing them all. I have a distant cousin in my village who is a doctor and he treats patients for free and has become a Mufti learning Islamic knowledge. And he has such a gentle personality, you will love him.

In my experience, the Mullahs I have seen are harmless people who have dedicated their life to Islam by and large.

Because you see dirty apples like Molana Fazlu and blame the whole people is dishonest and unfair.

Would you call every Pakistani a haram khor because Nawaz Sharif is a Pakistani?.

All i know is when you become close to Islam, you become bigger enemy of Shaytan and he tries to mislead you and entice you to sin. It doesn't excuse the sin though which is why ulma have the hashest punishment according to Islam if they sin

Brother, this is a good decision. Mufti Muneeb was unjustly biased in favor of Nawaz Sharif and he created unnecessary controversies when it came to Ramadan and Eid rejecting Shahadahs of moon sightings. He probably would've done it this year too.

Maybe another Mufti should've been appointed instead of dismissing the whole committee.

In KPK, the procedure was exactly Islamic. Several people would come with testimony and only trustworthy people's testimony would be accepted. Mufti Muneeb on the other hand rejected testimony and only relied on his and few others sightings which he failed usually because of how late he started sightings. Even this committee was victim of government laziness and incompetence.

It does seem Imran Khan is following the footsteps of Mustafa Kamal Ataturk separating religion from politics. But can you blame him? He seems like he's confused about Islamic and liberal ideals and seems to be a mixture of both. Maybe it's his goal, to please both liberals and religious people. Not sure his intentions but he's clearly a confused person.

I just hope he doesn't secularise this country, he would become the biggest Munafiq ever, so far i am giving him the benefit of doubt and waiting what he does in 5 years.

PS: i don't support Orya Maqbools ban. But this is pretty common. You can't speak the truth anymore

No brother im NOT an extremist, honestly it was simply waste of time and money. These molbis used to come to Karachi by air, 5 star accomodation, helicopter etc etc, and on top of it there used to be confusion all the time.

Moon sighting can be done by scitific calculation or almanacs . There is really no need to create a seperate dept just for this purpose. Burden on tax payers.

No worries. I know there are bad apples but when you call all maulvis stupid and idiots, you're insulting innocent people who have nothing to do with anything. Imagine if some non-Muslim called all Muslims idiots and stupid because of the actions of few, it wouldn't be fair right?.

I am not a fan of this Mufti Muneeb either but there are amazing Muftis who have knowledge and the people here insult them all without knowledge.

I agree with you on this. Majority of Mullahs here too in Canada are excellent people I spend some time and go on jamaat with. Its some black sheep in them who give them bad name as news flash on all media.

The best news which has gone unnoticed is that the govt has decided to disband the Ruet-i-Hilal committees at all levels & entrust the task of moon sighting to the Metrological Dept. Thank God it will get rid of the Chairman for life Mufti Muneeb too who was a big nuisance.

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf led federal government has reportedly decided to disband the Ruet-i-Hilal committees at all levels and entrust the task of moon sighting to the Meteorological Department.
Reports in local media suggest the decision was made in the wake of repeated nuisance following the controversial decisions of moon sightings by the committees in the past, which cost millions to the national exchequer.
The decision will also help to end the confusion on the sighting of the moon for when the month would start and end, according to reports.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), which is well-equipped to predict moon birth in advance based on scientific calculations, is to be tasked with the job, the reports added.
It is a popular belief that in any Islamic state, the right of announcement for moon sighting for Eid and Ramazan is the authority of the state.

Meanwhile on Sunday, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman announced that the crescent of Jamadi-ul-Awal has not been sighted and the 1st Jamadi-ul-Awal 1440 Hijri will be on Tuesday.
He announced this after chairing the meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Karachi today.
