I think most of the world had a positive view of Americans until early 90s. After that US decided to become Nazis and now they are probably the most hated nation on this planet; Especially what they did in Abu Ghraib and by giving the first genocide of this century (in Iraq) to the world, it is almost impossible to build the same repertoire again.
The American bank fraud of 2008 was the last straw that broke camels back. Most of the Europe has gone virtually bankrupt after the fraud of 2008. Germany and France have pumped in trillions to save EU from collapse. Slowly but surely they are disengaging themselves from American economic and military hegemony. The most terrible thing about this banking fruad was that American bankers were so vicious that they did not even spare their own population. 10 million Americans lost their homes and over hundred million lost their pension savings. If someone says that a population this large has no resentment against their government and a vicious system that sucks their blood then he lives in fools paradise. The only thing that has saved the American ruling elite this time is the hate propaganda against Muslims and how they are out their to destroy their "way of life". This propaganda has worked extremely well for two decades.
