Before starting the thread I want to say that I don't really care about global warming as the rest of the world has contributed enough in global pollution while industrializing their way to progress.
Pakistan has 7th largest reservoirs of coal , albeit most of it(97%) is lignite coal which is the lowest quality of coal. but Surprise Surprise ! Germany is producing 26.4% of their total electricity produced through lignite coal which is 140.7 TWh (around 16000 MW).
At the moment we literally burning our resources on furnace oil and no one in the government is looking forward towards this option. Granted this can't be done overnight but it has to start someday. If pakistan start building these coal powered power plants today(and ofcourse the coal production goes without saying) , in the next 6 7 years we will be able to produce surplus energy. Take all the help you can get from china but for Gods sake , start these power plants. Get rid of these money clenching IPPs.
