ISLAMABAD: Former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf fell sick on his way to the special court to appear before it for the treason case, Express News reported on Thursday.
Musharrafs convoy was redirected to the Armed Forces Cardiology Hospital in Rawalpindi.
The Special Court had earlier ordered Musharraf to appear before the court today or face consequences.
The former military ruler faces treason charges under Article 6 for suspending, subverting and abrogating the Constitution, imposing an emergency in the country in November 2007 and detaining judges of the superior courts. It is the first time in
Pakistans history that a former military ruler has been put on trial for treason.
Earlier today, senior counsel on Musharrafs legal team Anwar Mansoor requested the court to adjourn the hearing of the treason case to January 6.
Earlier, Musharrafs lawyers boycotted the hearing because of security issues.
Senior lawyer Sharifuddin Pirzada who is defending Musharraf stated that lawyer Akram Sheikh who is representing the government gave threats through lawyer Ibrahim Satti who is part of the legal team defending Musharraf.
Akram Sheikh should have an attitude of a lawyer, said Satti.
Sheikh on the other hand denied the allegations stating that Ibrahim Satti was given a message that the atmosphere of the court should be made better.
He also remarked that it is very difficult for me to even walk, how could I have given threats to anyone.
Mansoor also claimed that he received threats last night and was not able to sleep. To this, Justice Faisal Arab replied that he will be provided with the necessary security arrangements.
I do not trust the security provided by the government, Mansoor stated.
The former president had failed to appear before the court on January 1 citing security threats. Musharrafs advocate
Ahmed Raza Kasuri had said that security was still an issue, stating that a kilogramme of explosive materials was found near Musharrafs farmhouse this morning.
This is the third time that small quantities of explosives have been found near Chak Shahzad farmhouse. On December 31, 2.5kg of explosives were found around two kilometers away from the farmhouse.
A 5kg bomb, two pistols, a five-meter detonator wire and 16 bullets were also recovered on his route to court on December 24.

Our military is professional at lying. Initially a Major General IG FC got sick when Chief justice told him to appear in court. I think law should be amended and medical reasoning should be abolished once and for all.

میں نے کہا تھا نا یہ بزدل چوہا ہے۔ پتا نہیں فوجی کیسے بن گیا۔ پہلے دو دن بم رکھوا کر عدالت جانے سے بچ گیا آج عدالت جاتے جاتے دل کے دورے کا ڈرامہ کر دیا۔ یہ تو عدالت جانے سے ایسے ڈر رہا ہے جیسے آج ہی اس کو پھانسی لگا دیں گے۔ کبھی فوج کو آوازیں دیتا ہے کبھی بیرون ملک سے مدد مانگتا ہے۔ اس سے زیادہ ڈرپوک آدمی میں نے دنیا میں نہیں دیکھا۔ جو لوگ اسے کمانڈو کہتے ہیں ان کو شرم آنی چاہئے۔ یا اگر کہنا ہی ہے تو کمانڈو چوہا کہہ لیا کریں۔ میں تو حیران ہوں کہ نواز شریف نے اس چوہے کو فوج کا سربراہ بنایا۔ اب مجھے سمجھ آیا کہ یہ امریکہ کی ایک کال پر کیوں ڈھیر ہوگیا تھا اس کا تو دل ہی چوہے جتنا ہے تو اس نے ڈھیر ہی ہونا تھا۔ پورا ملک اس چوہے نے امریکہ کے حوالے کر دیا اور ہم آج تک بھگت رہے ہیں۔
