The nation is expecting soul of democracy to appear in coming few months: The Elections 2013. Eleventh hour arrangements have been started to reset the governing faces of state. CEC has already set code of conduct for national contest candidates and there is a discussion going on between CEC and Judiciary to hold the elections under direct involvement of judicial officers. Inter Parties exchange of politicians, also known as Lota-cracy has begun as well. The democratic style of national life is about to portray its utmost colors however, while following the band wagon, we have forgot the essence of democracy at national level. We are living with the fake most and shallow democracy ever found on mother earth !

Although I try to confine my personal views at personal level, I am forced but to spit them right here on this very occasion of elections. I personally believe that we Pakistanis are designed mentally to work in maximum efficiency under the rule of dictatorship where every law is forced to be obeyed, however, I am still against dictatorial era for single reason. Lucky are the nations who get honest to their nation dictators, monarch or standalone rulers. Monarchs are not restricted before a system to build Kala Bagh Dam. They are free to forcefully set CNG prices to appropriate level without any judicial orders. They have no issue in arresting and punishing any Raymond Davis. In short, they are free to do anything they want to, based on their honesty with the land they are blessed to rule. The only negative that makes me worry about dictatorship is the chance to have a culprit one on board. It will be very difficult to unite this divided nation to be one and throw the ruler out in case he proves himself to be dishonest (as we have seen Musharref Dadas dispose-off in near past).

Let us summarizingly analyze the political system we are living in. We have three to four stakeholders on national level politics and almost all of them are exercising democratic monarchy. Starting from Pakistan Peoples Party, we witnessed Mr. Bhutto emerging from nowhere as rising star on dawn that one day shined with its full magnitude. After Bhuttos fall, we welcomed the heir Benazir Bhutto right at point when many capable personalities were there to be set as party head. Benazir Bhuttos seat was transferred to Mr. Ten Percent notwithstanding the fact that he was undoubtedly the most corrupt member of party. As a political stunt and to continue hereditary democratic monarchy, Bibis herd and its name was transplanted to additive of Bhutto at their ends The Zardaris were converted into Bhutto by a mere alteration of their corresponding tags to clear the path of future ruling. Coming to next stake holder, PMLN emerged as their leader Mian Muhammed Nawaz Sharif entered in national mainstream politics in Zias reign. PMLN is in leadership of Mian Sb, since then. He is being chosen as party head since then along with other members of Sharif Family including his brother Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz, Maryam Nawaz and others. More or less, same is the case with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, relatively new party with slogan of deadly Tsunami for betterment of country. MQM is another shame in the name of democracy where monarch is dual nationality holder who is simply vulnerable to conflict of interest in case he is questioned to prove his loyalty to one of the passports. The only party that holds ideological party head rather than personality leadership is still Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan. Beginning from Abu al Ala Moududi and continuing till Munawwar Hussain, there is no relationship between the party patrons. JI concentrates upon ideological propagation of its agenda without any dictatorship within party. Qazi Hussain Ahmed used to accept the decisions made by Central Majlis-e-Shura though he differed with the central views personally on many occasions.

Almost all the parties speak so much about their internal party elections, none can claim the transparency and honesty to make it happen in its full spirit. PTI announced party elections long ago but still Imran Khan is unable to initiate it. Same is the case with PPP, PMLN and others. I believe it is ancestral idolship and its effect that majority of us still believe in personal capacity rather than potential of agenda presented by party. I still dream of Pakistan where policies are compared and not the personal politics. Sadly, we are left with no choices other than the Monarchs within their own, the politicians of Pakistan !
