Aik hon muslim harum ki pasbani kay liay!
This line of Iqbal confuses lots of people including me. The confusion comes from the first three words
'aik hon muslim' what does it actually mean.Some argue that the middle word 'hon' ( be ) could also be 'hoon' ( am ) .Though written same way in urdu, will change the meaning of the line depending if you mean 'be' or 'am'
Aik hon (be) muslim....muslims be one for pasbani
Aik hun(am) muslim....I am (the only) one muslim for pasbani ( would imply that nobody else in the muslim world cares )
Any maher e Iqbaliat care to shed some lite on this?
