RAWALPINDI: In a strong statement, the Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) said that the sacrifices of Pakistan's martyrs do not need a certifacte from Ameer Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Syed Munawar Hassan, DawnNews reported.


The statement said that the JI chief's statement was irresponsible and that it was only made for political point scoring.
"Munawar Hassan's statement is an insult to the thousands of Pakistani civilians and soldiers killed," the ISPR statement said.


"To declare dead terrorists as martyrs makes Munawar Hassan's remarks highly condemnable.


"Strong condemnation of his views from an overwhelming majority leaves no doubt in any one's mind that all of us are very clear on what the state of Pakistan is and who are its enemies," the stement said.

"The people of Pakistan, whose loved ones laid down their life while fighting terrorists, and families of shuhada of armed forces demand an unconditional apology from Syed Munawar Hassan for hurting their feelings. It is also expected that Jamaat-i-Islami should clearly state its party position on the subject,: said the ISPR staement.

I think PAK Army does not want damaging Fatwas before going into another failed adventure in Waziristan. It seems those Cigar smoking Generals have already made commitment to their masters in US for the Waziristan operation.

جماعتی گرو، مولوی منور صاحب کا کہنا ہے کہ پاکستانی فوج کیونکہ امریکہ کا ساتھ دے رہی ہے لہذا طالبان کے خلاف کاروائیوں میں اس کے مارے جانے والے سپاہی شہید نہیں کہلائے جا سکتے

مولوی صاحب سے کوئی یہ پوچھے کہ جہاد افغانستان کے دوران مارے جانے والے جہادی (جو اس وقت امریکہ کی مدد سے لڑ رہے تھے) کیا شہید ہیں ہا پھر ہلاک؟

Every sensible Pakistani should stand-up against such stupid statements ... keep in mind ... terrorists are terrorists and should not be labeled as SHAHEEDS. I don't care what ISPR is saying, I do however care about what public thinks ... we should not allow these mindless leaders to use religious brush to paint a terrorist as a SHAHEED.

So by Army own account its responsible for the vast majority of WOT deaths.

27 000 deaths it has labelled "Insurgents".So Army is taking direct responsibility for those deaths.
Interesting,very unusual statistic.

I assume this figure also includes the 3200 killed by drone strikes (though all evidense suggest the majority killed have not been militants).

How many of the civilian deaths were so called collateral damage given our Army reliance on unguided bombs and artillery strikes?

Because Insurgents most lethal weapon Suicide bombing has killed about 6000 people till date
(Civilian targets but majority have been Military/Police targets).

That leaves 11 ,000 who were either killed by insurgents (though non suicide bombing insurgent massacres of civilians are rare) or were collateral damage.

ISPR is crossing the line.
It has no right to demand apologies from politicians what ever their views.
Its interfering in political sphere.
In America groups such as West Bro Baptist church have done protest during Military funerals with anti military signs.

Not once has Army dared issued a statement against them. That is NOT its job.

Courts have repeatedly ruled that these groups have a right to protest.

I think Pakistan Army should steer clear from using Islamic terms overall and leave it to the family personal beliefs.

Because if they keep using Islamic terms they will be expected by religiously inclined people to adhere to Islamic rules of war and foreign policy.
For example do you really want to know what is the Islamic opinion about taking CSF monies to support ISAF War in Afghanistan?

Because their are dozen of authentic Hadith backed by Quranic interpretation saying this is HARAM.
Because their is almost no room in sharia to Support non believers Militarily over believers in ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.

Dont take my word for it check Haidth ,Ayats yourself. Their is a good reason no less then 500 Ulema in 2004 came to the conclusion that Pakistan Army operation into Tribal areas on direct American request was Anti Islamic.


Its a pandora box.
Not just that, this their are other Islamic ruling that forbid Non Muslims in serving in the Army of a Muslim state.
In Battle of Uhud multiple authentic Hadith reports that Jews of Medina sent a force to support Muslims who were being defeated even then Prophet Muhammadpbuh clearly said their help could not be accept in any way.


You can choose to ignore this fine. But please dont drag in Islam into it.
Its forcing people to choose between nationalism and their religion.

Cause if anyone bothers to look this up strictly in a religious sense I am afraid its pretty open and shut case.
Its better not to address this at all.

I think Munnawar sahib should resign and allow some sensible person with a world view as a part of his religious view to become the chief of JI, Hai hamaray baivakoof dost!

But we call all the 50000 Shaheeds including the 26000 terrorists so by default everybody is as guilty as Munawaar Hussain in calling Hakeem Ullah Shaheed.

TTP spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid has said that Munawwar Hasan's statements imply that jamat e islami is back on the path of maududi and we welcome the statement of munawwar hasan..

shahidullah shahid said that the statement of fazl-ur-rahmaan do not deserve that it should be replied...
