Nisar threatens to disclose details of in-camera session
Nisar said, “There was no exchange of harsh words between the DG ISI and I during the session."
Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Tuesday threatened to disclose details of in-camera briefing to joint sitting of the Parliament.
Addressing a press conference, Nisar claimed it had been noticed that some quarters were feeding a selected part of media with twisted and misleading news items to distort image of “selected opposition leaders” and create misunderstanding among the masses.
He stated that there was no exchange of harsh words between him and the Director General of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) during the session. He also expressed concern over the drone attacks after the passage of a unanimous resolution of the Parliament.
He said the new terms of engagement with US about joint operation against any high-value target in Pakistan were unacceptable as the house had not been taken into confidence especially after it passed a resolution condemning the US forces’ unilateral operation in Abbottabad.
Nisar underlined the need for early setting up of an independent commission on Abbottabad operation, adding that the PML-N was going to suggest names of Justice (r) Shafi-ur-Rehman, Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid, Justice (r) Fakhruddin G Ibrahim, senior journalist Majeed Nizami, President of Supreme Court Bar Association Asma Jehangir and politician Mehmood Khan Achakzai in a letter to the prime minister
