Nawaz delays return till August; plans to notify new COAS while being in London

LONDON : First it was said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would return home right after Eid. Now he has second thought and has delayed his return till August, Tehlka TV has learnt. That is the best recipe to avoid probe into the Panama Commission. He is also likely to issue a notification for the appointment of General Raheel Sharif’s successor while being in London. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s open heart surgery is over. He is taking rest in his luxurious flats in London which were bought through offshore companies, according to Panama Papers.

Tehlka TV learned that Mr Sharif held a meeting of his kitchen cabinet in his luxurious flats in London where Prime Minister’s Secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi and Minister of Information and Broad Casting Pervaiz Rasheed were also present.

The centre of the discussion was; how to save Nawaz Sharif and his family from army pressure on Panama Papers probe. After hectic consultations, the Prime Minister, who according to the family has been on rest, decided to stay in London till August.During his absence, Finance Minister and Sharif family’s relative Ishaq Dar will look after the government affairs. He will be notified as minister in charge. The meeting also decided that the prime minister would issue the notification of a new army chief while being in London. This will be about three months ahead of Gen Raheel Sharif’s retirement date. The meeting decided that after seeing the response of the army about the notification regarding new Chief of Army Staff (COAS), the Prime Minister would fix the date of return to the country.

The participants were certain that by August, pressure by the opposition on Panama Papers would have abated to certain degrees and the army would be looking for orders towards the newly notified chief for orders.

Tehlka TV also learned that besides the kitchen cabinet, certain countries have also jumped in only to save the Sharifs. In this regard, escalations on the western borders are part of that game plan, while on eastern borders; the similar activity is expected so that the army is kept engaged on borders instead of their focused operations against corruption and terrorism inside the country particularly in Punjab in connection with National Action Plan (NAP) as well as facilitators of Terrorists and Economic Terrorism.
