What is the punishment for apostasy in Islam?

''There is no compulsion in religion''

These is no punishment for apostasy in Islam. Religion is a mater of Man and God and only Allah has the right to punish a man if he chooses a wrong path or changes his faith. Islam does not allow punishment for a person who does not say prayer ,keep fast, perform Huj and these are pillars of Islam. Anything related to faith has no punishment other than by Allah himself.

Its between him and Allah subhan' utaala & he already apologized to Allah infront of the whole nation.Who the F are you to kill or punish anyone. Its the duty of Hakim-e-ala and judiciary to decide and punish citizens. Bunch of goons trying to harass someone who has no defence. Face guns and bullets if you have guts in the name of religion.
