Let people fool themselves. PTI support in Karachi is now an established fact whether you look at the election results or you talk to people on the streets you will find the same. PTI has emerged as the first party in the last 2-3 decades to seriously challenge MQMs control over Karachi. We should all support it I feel because it is a non-violent and non-ethnic party. It can truly unite the multicultural society in the city. Both parties agreed to be non-confrontational at this point as it serves the objectives of both. PTI would not want a direct confrontation with MQM as it endangers the lives of its supporters and leaders and it wants to focus right now on the central govt. MQM has been in a lot of trouble of late and is busy re-organizing. It does not want any confrontation right now.

1) when MQM made sindh government with PMLN in 1997, MQM had majority, still MQM sacrificed its CM ship because sindhis were crying that CM of sindh should be a sindhi

2) in 2002 when MQM again formed the government with PMLQ MQM had more MPAs than PMLQ and yet again MQM was rejected to have CM, the reason told that MQM was urdu speaking and only sindhis should be the CM

3) in 2009 MQM lost all powers of local body of karachi along with many powers which were given to MQM's governor ishrat were snatched away by PPP in 2008, MQM still remained quite

3) it was MQM in 2011 that fought for the fair share of sindh in NFC award from the federal but then PPP failed to give jusitifed rights to karachi that is local bodies election and jusitifed funds to karachi

4) in 1992 the army operation was done against MQM when MQM was in the government with nawaz shareef, and it was MQM who had made nawaz shareef obtain majority through coalition in the federal

5) in 1997 when nawaz shareef promised that he wont back stab MQM and asks for apology in nine zero, MQM made the government again but soon after the murder of hakeem said, there was another operation on MQM

6) despite PPP using sindhis to fight against mohajirs MQM joined PPP's government, if you look at the archieve pictures it was benazir who visited nine zero and beg for MQM's support, just like zardari did in 2008

7) if you read the news, zardari and PPP didn't have majority mandate and its government could have been toppled, it was MQM who joined zardari and gave it majority mandate, still MQM didn't get either any big ministry nor any credible powers in sindh government, infact both local bodies and little powers ishrat ul ibad enjoyed were taken away

8) in 2011 when imran khan wanted to do jalsa in karachi, it was people's party who stopped PTI from doing any jalsa, PTI asked for mazar e quaid for it, PTI was refused and was not given any permission to hold jalsa on any major place, sindh government also told that imran had security risk, it was then MQM's governor ishrat ul ibad who did talks with sindh govt and let PTI hold jalsa as it wanted and PTI even displayed banners and hoardings, there was no problem, PTI abused MQM a lot of times but MQM came to its rescue, if MQM wanted it would have not let PTI do any jalsa but MQM welcomed PTI, in Punjab MQM faced worst opposition esp it was not allowed to open offices, and its workers were beaten if they supported MQM publically, but yet MQM didn't stop imran khan or any other to do any political activity in karachi

9) the very recent 'ehsaan MQM did to PMLN was to successfully negotiate between qadri and PMLN, when qadri had refused to come out of the plane, MQM difused that situation, and when qadri was been stick hungry in model town it was MQM who kept his workers calm by dispatching 6 trucks of food, it was MQM who made PMLN realise that it should allow qadri and imran to hold gathering in islamabad, if it wasn't for MQM your government tactics had spared no reason to topple PMLN govt, you should be thankful to MQM

10) despite PMLN is responsible for killing mohajirs and MQM workers, still MQM is not talking against it and infact pushed for a handshake and voted for its president in sindh, when PMLN was not finding one guy who would support him
