IslamabadA prominent activist of PPP and close associate of legendary ideologue of the party in 1970s, Shaikh Mohammad Rashid, Major (Retd) Khalid Mehmud Shaikh has announced to dissociate from the party and joined Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI).
In a statement he said the current leadership of the PPP has sidelined time-tested old workers of the party such as Dr Israr, Naheed Khan, Safdar Abbasi and hundreds like them. The time-servers dominate the political scene while the sincere workers have lost all say.
He said, our family and clan made great sacrifices to promote cause of the PPP for the sake of Pakistan but now the country is in the grip of lawlessness, poverty and corruption.
The ill-conceived policies of the ruling party have paralysed politico-economic life of the country.
Khalid Mehmud Shaikh said, PTI Chief, Imran Khan and his party are showing to the people the way to get rid of a failed government and save Pakistan.
