my sis in law got it done from lahore two months ago in 35000 pk rupees.. it was going to cast 3500 dollars here but she went to pak specially for this purpose and got it done in 350 dollars and visit the family in addition.... it was wonderful with latest equipment and she is perfectly fine now ,,, no more glasses

Use contact lenses if you don't like using glasses, its much better. Actually I was also thinking of LASIK but doctors here recommended continuing use of soft contact and glasses.

Doctor in Japan?

I have loads of relatives who are enjoying glasses free life without any issues. Contacts aren't just for me. Too annoying and uncomfortable.

My sister in law got it done from Lahore 4 years ago and since then i never heared any complaint. If you follow precautions then you will not have any problems later on either you done in UK or in Pakistan.

جناب میں نے پچھلے سال دسمبر میں کروایا تھا ٣٠٠٠٠ روپے لگے تھے دائیں آنکہ -٤ اور بائیں آنکہ -٥ تھی ہو تو اچھا تھا کوئی مشکل نہیں ہوئی ٢ ماہ تک ویزن با لکل تھیک ہو گیا مگر ایک سال بعد بائیں آنکہ میں پر نمبر آ گیا ہے .٢٥ کا
یہ مستقل نہیں ہے نمبر انے کے چانس ہوتے ہیں اگر آپ کا نمبر زیادہ نہیں ہے تو پر رہنے دیں لیکن اگر نمبر زیادہ ہے تو پر ٹھیک ہے

Actually I have had a consultation appointment and they did mention this in there that there is a 15% chance that prescription could come back but not as high. Prescription is quite high so I think its worth a shot but I need to do my home work before I get going. They are asking for almost 3 thousand pounds but the price you paid is peanuts in comparision

My brother got it done from Lahore bout 10 years ago and his eye sight is perfectly fine MashAlalh. But I would not risk my eyes unless I can trust somebody. There is a saying

PAY GOOD, GET GOOD

I had it done from clifton karachi through a reputible eye hospital back in 2006 very good experience. Before lasik done, I was not able to see my face in the mirror without glasses but after that I got 20/20 vision. One of my colleague did it from Lahore and he is also very much satisfied. It actullay depends on from where you are going to get it done. Although a competent doctor will charge you a bit more but the chances of getting good results are also very high.

I saw ppl in the west also getting worst result due to unprofessional doctors despite of having latest equipment.

How much did you pay? and the clinic name please?

well that's what doctor recommended me "using mix of glasses and soft contact". My doctor mentioned similar reason as below. For work I am using glasses while for leisure using 1 day.

Dude, nothing is risk free but 99% of the times this operation is successful

I have a complex number, is it possible to get laser done with complex eye sight problem?

my number is -5.75 for both eyes...i thought it was quite complex but my doc told me it isn't, just above average. Most of the docs do free consultation, just stop by any of em and they will tell you if you are eligible or not.

Its pretty cheap in UK now aswell,plus you can get finance as well and pay later.Why not go that route.

Actually I have looked into this properly. They advertised as 300 pounds per eye but after the consultation, the bill they made me was over 3000 pounds. They told me it depends on your prescription and corneal thickness of your eye. Mine is quite thing apparently.

My brother got it done from Lahore some 8-9 years back. It cost him Rs. 20,000, but perhaps there were only one or two hospitals doing it then, now there may be many. His number at that time was around -2.5 to -3.0. He is just fine with it and never used glasses again. But he has developed a little bit of sensitivity in his eyes, may be 5%. But if one can live away from dust etc., then there should be no problem.

yea..that is very very cheap. Do you happen to know her approximate prescription? Clinic name?

I'm based in London. My brother in law got laser (PRK) done for 35,000 Rs from Laser Vision Centre in Lahore in October 2012. His eyesight was -3 in both eyes but now he has perfect vision mashallah. It is in K block, model town (35868844) www.laservision.com.pk They introduced laser surgery in Pakistan and have been doing it since 1996 in Lahore as well as Karachi, so they are very experienced and competent. He came from Sweden and was able to stay in touch with the doctor and staff through email. They were very helpful.
I'm researching because I want to get laser done too, but I have a cylinder number so I'm not sure if I should get PRK done from them in Lahore or LASIK done from them in Karachi. Apparently Laser Vision Centre does only PRK in their Lahore clinic and both PRK and LASIK in their Karachi clinic because there is a trend of only PRK in Lahore and LASIK in Karachi. Has anyone had LASIK done from Laser Vision Centre in Karachi? Please let me know since I want to get it done this summer while I'm off from university and would like to visit Karachi. I will contact them to ask once my exams are over but if anyone here has any experience till then, please share.
