.......Petitioner, Sohaib Ahmed, went off the view that concerned authorities should take some action to prevent the increasing penetration of this evil in our society.
He said that it is the responsibility of the state to prevent prostitution, illegal drugs, gambling, printing and publication of obscene content in the society.
He said:
Fearing surfing of pornography by children and employees, parents and businessmen have urged the government to introduce filtering devices on the internet.
Therefore he asked court to direct Ministry of Telecommunication to block these websites.
Courts Action:
Lahore High Court has issued a notice to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and Ministry of Religious Affairs to submit their viewpoint over the control of circulation of explicit content on the internet.
Yesterday Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan of Lahore Highcourt, asked the correspondents to give their comments on the prevailing issue within the period of four weeks.....................................................................................................................................................................................................
