Accountability: Three Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ministers sacked!!!
PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government on Wednesday suspended three provincial ministers for alleged involvement in corrupt practices and poor performance, including two from the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) with whom the government also chose to end coalition with, Express News reported on Wednesday.
“Chairman PTI Imran Khan today issued a strong advisory to CM Khyber-Pukhtunkwa to pull out of the coalition with QWP,” a statement from PTI issued on Wednesday evening read.
Suspended ministers
The suspended ministers are Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Yousuf Ayub Khan and Quami Watan Party’s (QWP) Malik Ibrar Hussain Khan and Bakht Bedar.
The PTI minister was also declared ineligible by the Supreme Court for holding a fake degree.
Yousuf was the Minister for Communications and Works, Bedar was Minister for Industries, Commerce and Technical Education and Malik was Minister for Environment.
QWP’s Response
QWP Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao issued an official statement on Wednesday saying that anyone who has evidence of corruption should share it with his party.
“We will take stern action if proof is shared with us,” he categorically stated.
“We have been clear since day one that we will not tolerate corruption as we believe in transparency and good governance,” he added, emphasising he would not allow anyone to tarnish the party’s reputation.
‘Stamping out corruption’
Earlier on November 8, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had urged Chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak, to investigate corruption in the province, according to PTI’s official website.
The online press release reiterated the party’s two electoral promises of bringing peace back to the country, particularly in K-P, and stamping out corruption.
