Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) lawmakers boycotted the Sindh Assembly session on Saturday to protest against deferment of polling at two seats of Azad Kashmir legislature for Kashmiri refugees in Karachi.
The MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari has said that the elections have been postponed on the report of Inspector General (IG) Police of Sindh.
Sabzwari said that the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) had pressed the MQM to give one of the two AJK assembly seats in Karachi to them but the demand was refused.
He condemned deferment of the polling and questioned who directed the Police chief to request for postponement of the election in Karachi.
