A professor of Islamic Studies in Rome University regarded ignorance of non-Muslim citizens in the West towards the true Islam as the main cause of Islamophobia in western countries.

According to Rohama, Rita Di Milio said: "Many of the Islamic rules and principles form the foundations of the international human rights law which calls for respecting rights of humans from all religions, nations and colors."

The lecturer also said that only some extremist politicians in the west are against development of Islam.

"Their animosity towards Islam and Muslims is sure to be a failure since Muslims have taken steps to introduce Islamic values to the people in the West."

Ms. Di Milio has got a PhD degree in Islamic literature and history and has authored a book entitled "Islam, an Unknown Religion in the West", which has been well received in Arab and Islamic countries.

Speaking about her book, she said, "Having studied various books on Islamic traditions and sciences as well as prophetic tradition and history of Islam, I decided to write this book proving that Islam is a great religion which is not introduced as it is by western media."

The Italian Islamologist and researcher further stated, "The book tries to present the reality of Islam introducing it as a religion inviting followers of divine faiths to peace and mutual understanding and one which is against religious prejudice, hatred, discrimination and racism.

It also reminds western people that Islam encourages its followers to respect moral and human values and to coexist with followers of other faiths."

I feel sad that we , muslims, never do sensible efforts to counter such allegations...

Thank you dear wadaich for the post, there is a big problem between islam, muslims and nonmuslims. It is obvious from my posts.

Islam that is in the quran and is understood by great muslim scholars of islam is great. Unfortunately, that is not the islam of muslim masses. The islam of muslim masses is mullaism, sectarianism and imperialism.

This is what islam means to nonmuslims ie what muslims say islam is that is what they accept islam is.

They criticise child marriages, slavery, wars of conquest and so on and so forth.

Muslims are accused of double talk because they believe and say one thing between themselves and tell another to nonmuslims and outsiders.

Within mullas are busy telling people child marriages are allowed because the prophet married ayesha and his life is sunnah that must be followed till end of time, but when confronted by outsiders, they either shut up or expose their own ignorance about islam and make islam look bad on one hand and laughing stock on the other.

Anyone who tells them from within that this is not islam, he is threatened with all sorts of threats including death.

Who can oppose mullas if they must stone people to death in cases of adultery?

Who can oppose mullas when they decide to kill apostates of islam?

So we need to put our own house in order before we can really say with full force to nonmuslims that you are talking rubbish about islam.

We did not even sign the international human rights declaration till we drew our own one. All because even politicians are frightened to go against what mullas claim islam to be.

All this must change and that is only possible if we take islam seriously ourselves and see what it really is and give up following mullas blindly.

This is a long process but signs are good that real islam is becoming more and more exposed as opposed to mullaism. So let us keep pushing and see how close we can get to real islam and within what sort of time scale.
