Rawalpindi: Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor on Sunday stated that innocent workers of controversial Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) are being used for vested agendas against state-institutions
The army spokesperson made it overtly clear that nobody will be allowed to undo the gains of decades long national struggle.
“NWTD incident. Innocent PTM supporters / workers need care. Only few are inciting and using them against state institutions for vested agenda. No one will be allowed to undo the gains of decades long national struggle & sacrifices especially of brave Pakistani tribals”, stated ISPR DG.
Earlier today, 5 military personnel were injured as miscreants led by Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar attacked a check-post in North Waziristan, a press-release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated today.
The ISPR said three attackers were killed and 10 others were injured.
According to the ISPR, eight people including Ali Wazir were taken into custody.
"A group led by Mohsin Javed and Ali Wazir, assaulted Kharqamar check post, Boyya,North Waziristan tribal district this morning. They wanted to exert pressure for release of suspected terrorists’ facilitator arrested the other day.
"Troops at the check post exercised maximum restraint in the face of provocation and direct firing on the post. Due to firing of the group 5 Army soldiers got injured. In exchange of fire 3 individuals who attacked the post lost their lives and 10 got injured. All injured evacuated to Army Hospital for treatment. Ali Wazir along with 8 individuals have been arrested while Mohsin Javed is at large after inciting the crowd", read the statement.
