We all respect him and i would like to see him more respoectful and trust worthy. My boss gave me $50.00-thanks boss and he agreed to be a part of our group along with my neighbor. I will find one more person and we will contribute $ 25.00 each to the grand total of $100.00 per month. I will find a family effected by this disaster and support them every month with one year commitment. My Money order will be for $550.00

Great Job brother and I was feeling proud of myself just giving away a couple of hundred dollars. See this is what this thread is all about. Make people realize that they should be doing as much as they can and they can. Not just a few hundred. I know a guy in the UK who is a doctor, he has a direct depost to Shaukat Khanam for $3000 every month for past 7 years. There are many great great examples out there.

Yes. If the Organization is trustworthy and is well aware of the Shari'ah laws of Zakah, you may assign them with the
responsibility of discharging your Zakah. Please do not forget to mention them that you are donating the money of Zakah and organization must spend it according to prescribed criteria..

I dont want to reveal what I am doing for this calamity, or what I am doing since several years to help needy, but I can tell you it is more then double to what the starter of the thread did.

Also I prefer doing work from my own hand or through a relible friend who is working on ground himslef, and who spend ZERO on his personal administrative expenses, and Alhamdolillah it is a successful ongoing activity.........

Well guys i think Whats Up Doc should deserve a big big THANK YOU and be encouraged.. And charity is considered a noble cause in every society and religion. However, people can not be forced how much to donate, its even $1 or other small amount given with good intention can make a difference.

Thats been said, I personally have told all my mates to donate some specific amount each (including me). I run a small freelance PC & Laptop repair business in my town so I have decided to give away
5 in each repair.

Polytricks, Adeel bhaai and all other friends who donated, Jazakallah for your efforts.

One point to be noted when you donate: Always donate to those organisations which give away 100% to the needy people, because some NGOs are simply out there for business. Some of them may only give 1 penny out of your 1 donation, or some may give 5 pennies per pound you donate, and this is clearly mentioned in the donation appeal, as they are by law commited to disclose how much they actually give away from your donations. So be carefull.
