اپ اچھی طرح سمجھتے ہیں کہ عورتوں پر تعلیم کی پابندی نہیں البتہ کچھ کام ایسے ہوسکتے ہیں جہاں عورت کی بے پردگی ہو وہاں عورتوں کو کام نہیں کرنا چاہئے لیکن ایسے بہت سے کام ہیں جہاں عورتوں کی وجھ سے بہتری آسکتی ہے میں صرف یہی بات کررہا ہوں

If we follow your logic then Pakistan should have the greatest islamic tehzeeb in the world because majority of its women are sitting at home. Does it?

Also your argument about capitalism is futile. Women in socialist and communist countries also don't stay at home, instead they contribute to the society. Examples of such countries in the present and recent past are China, Russia, North Korea, etc.


I really don't know which tehzeeb are you talking about. May be by tehzeeb you mean watching dramas and movies though out the day, while the husband is away?

You have raised a very good point, but it is not going to happen in our life time. It would take at least 2 more generations for people to open up their minds. In Pakistan girl's schools get burnt down and some of them get shot just for getting education, let alone getting a job.

You can see from Qaiser's comments; he represents the mindset of most Pakistanis. I don't mean any disrespect towards him, even some of my own family members think in a similar manner, where they think that there are only two extremes; keep women at home or adapt vulgar western culture. There is a middle ground; I, for example, work in a company where about 50-60 Indian females work and 1 Pakistani girl. I personally know the families of those Indians working and they have very similar culture as ours except the religion of course. I don't see them doing anything vulgar or their kids getting spoiled, in fact they raise very smart kids. Don't bash me for praising Indians, but the fact is they dominate (male and female) most professions in US working at good jobs. We should look at their example and educate our people that male/female can coexist at a work place without making it a hostile environment for women.

I agree with most of your commentary except for the female school burnings. No female schools are burning in either karachi or lahore yet the women after their graduation stay at home.

Another interesting observation of mine is that in the villages of Pakistan there are a lot of women who work at farms. Actually majoruty of the men lie on their "Manjs". The problem is not the rural woman's motivation. It's the urban women who are straying at home.

So you are an expert on laws made by Allah? What does a widow do who has no other relatives? When a female in your family has to see to a gynecologist, to whom she goes to? Enlighten me.

i feel pity for women in west (including Canada). they have to do all those things that Pakistan women do at home + do job as well. and all that on her own .very less chances for "kaam wali " unlike Pakistani women

You should also pity the pakistani men in canada. They do things here which they never do in Pakistan. They wash dishes by themselves. They fix broken things by themselves. They cook by themselves. They can't play cricket every evening because they have to spend some time with the family too.

I think that you are misunderstanding the issue. It's not about bring money home. It's about contributing to the society. We don't have enough police officers, scientists, doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers, judges, etc. If your concern is that women should not bring money home then they can works as volunteers.

I have no problems if my female siblings actually make a living by working. Actually some of them do. One of the reasons I don't have a problem with it because my conscience is clear. I respect the females of other families. I expect that other men will behave like me too. How do you behave when women are around?

By the experience of communist USSR (not Russia; read at least elementary history) and socialist China, we learnt that in spite of some power private elite there emerged the State the biggest capitalist with same colonial, hegemonic and utilitarian objectives. USSR went even further (and China more or less followed it) and became an anti-religion State. Soviets were against family system because they thought that family is the basic unit of oppression in a society and they tried to destroy it through State policy. Is this what you mean by women contribution in the society???

I consider Pakistan a very bad example of Islamic civilization which once produced great minds of the world. Islam as a civilizational force has ceased to exist now due to colonialism's onslaught on Muslim countries. The intellectual bankruptcy and the modern selfish Muslim Middle classes (who are dying to follow capitalism at any cost and we are part of this Middle classes) in spite of searching solutions which on the one hand make Muslim world strong technologically and on the other hand save basic religious and cultural values of Islam, has become a slave of modernity.

And what a good example you gave of civilization. You don't even know the elementary meaning of civilization. Are you really so naive that you think when I talked about civilization I had in my mind these superficial capitalist products like dramas????

A lot of Pakistani women are sitting at home for a long period of time. To the best of my knowledge, Pakistan has not been in a worse position that it is today. Why did not the Islamic tehzeeb made progress in Pakistan? Women are sitting at home, why could they not teach their kids that it's wrong to kill another muslim?

I think that you should be at least creative to answer this question first How can we save the family from the ills of capitalism before advising women to join hand with men in the office or factory on equal basis. I am not against working women. They are even needed in many fields but I think there work places should be separate and they should be given special grants, enough time and a loose time table for work so that they can pay attention to their family as well.
