Do you know how amazing honey is? I’m not only taking about the sugary taste, but its benefits for the body. Combined with water, there are many wonders it can do for you overall. Read on to find out what it is I am talking about.
Shed the Weight
Drinking warm water with honey will help you lose weight. You may be thinking “but its sugar, how can it be conducive to losing weight?” To answer that, I reply with “natural sugar.” Natural sugar can be good for you, providing you with a healthy source of calories. If you find regular old water boring to drink, honey as a natural sweetener can perk it up. Not only that, but drinking warm honey water can help keep any sugary beverage cravings at bay. If you don’t know already, drinking cold drinks such as soda can help with weight gain, as it contains unnecessary amounts of empty non-natural sugar calories. By cutting back on soda, your calorie intake drops and you start shedding weight. Now I’m not saying it will happen overnight, but substituting soda with warm honey water will indeed help in the long run.
Honey Takes Care of your Immune System
Honey is a good source for killing bacteria. If you try raw, organic honey, it is full of enzymes, vitamins and minerals that are on the front lines protecting against bacteria. One study in the UK found that Manuka honey may even posses the ability to reverse the bacterial resistance to antibiotics. Honey is also an antioxidant, which fights the free radicals in our body trying to disrupt our systems
Nature’s Energy Booster
Forget the coffee! Well maybe not entirely. But the next time you are feeling drowsy, try drinking cold water with honey. Studies have shown that feeling dehydrated can leave you feeling lethargic and drowsy. So drinking water in itself will perk you up. Adding honey to the water is an added bonus. Honey is a natural source of carbohydrates (energy producers). The glucose in honey is absorbed by the body and gives a sudden energy boost, while the fructose is absorbed more slowly providing sustained energy. And it will leave you feeling refreshed.
Cleanse that Body!
Honey and warm water helps to flush out the toxins from your body. It helps to regularly rid your body of toxins that can build up and cause disease. It’s even better if you add lemon to the mix. Lemon has antioxidant properties to fight the free radicals, and will help you to urinate even more, removing toxins faster and keeping your urinary tract healthy. Lemon also has citric acid in it, which helps to increase the function of enzymes, which in turn stimulates the liver and help with detoxification.
Want Good Health?
Honey has been known to provide excellent abilities to provide good health. Adding cinnamon and/or lemon to the mix makes it a powerhouse in treating ailments and diseases. Lower your cholesterol, relieve joint pain, and destroy bacteria in the urinary system. It can also treat colds, indigestion, outbreaks of acne, and help with obesity. Again, nothing will happen overnight, but adding honey to your diet is an excellent element in the long run. Now go a get a warm glass of water and honey!
