A fantastic show just started last week, hosted by Shakeel Siddiqui[one of the best comedians of our country], today's topic was Democracy and corruption, and their guest Punjab 's law minister Rana Sanaullah, show also features 2 comic poets who contribute thru their blunt and artful poetry, plus a guest comic artist, last week it was Iftikhar Thakur, this week another fellow comedian. Though one of the poets overshadowed the host today, after a long time I saw a talk show which looked like Awam vs. politicians, not politician v. politician:

Bhaio, these poeple had the oppertunity to tell the truth to this wazir, what they did was beat arround the bush, let me tell the questions they should ahve asked.
1. ppp promised to fix electricity problem in one year, what happened.
2. ppp promised to get rid of all those amendments used by Musharaf to serve himself.
3. ppp promised to investigate and open to the public the case of Murdered Benazeer bhuto.
4. ppp gave honorables passage to Musharaf when promised previously to try those who broke Democracy.
5. ppp should clear all those blames against it about 10% about money in foreign banks and about how much income tax they pay and the problem of false degrees in Parliament.
to begin with these are the common questions asked by all TV anchors and people, why does pp not answer these. this is a common knowledge in Pakistan but no one asks thease questions to the politicians when they get them in the studios. Why so.

Well, the guest politician is from PML-N[Nawaz league] party, so these questions will be answered with one reply, I don't represent PPP go ask a PPP politician, but PML-N share govt. with PPP in Punjab and is somewhat supportive in the centre especially with their prime minister Gilani, so they also are equallkly responsible for the current problems in PAkistan, PML-N can be quizzed for their own pathetic governance, to name a few from their chargesheet:
1. Punjab is suffering from gas supply shortage, with residential areas getting cuts sometimes for more than 12+ hours whereas Islamabad and Karachi are'nt facing such problems why?
2. Sharif bros. who govern Punjab own sugar mills, yet Punjab and LAhore are paying Rs.5-15 extra the cost of sugar compared to Karachi[around Rs.70-80] why?
3. The poor in PAkistan are being squeezed from their wages yet Nawaz Sharif pays a tax of Rs.5000 and does'nt declare his complete assets, why????
4. Punjab's law and order situation has become more gruesome since Musharraf era with robberies and theft on the rise, with food inflation[mehengayi] crippling the awam already, what has PML-N done on this front??
5. What is the follow up of the cases where bigwigs of Punjab Police were involved e.g. the brutal murder of brothers from Sialkot???
6. Nawaz Sharif promised that PML-N MNAs, MPAs adjudged having fake degrees will be removed from the party, why have'nt PML-N taken any action on this front?
Qatil jamhuriyat is contributing to its own chargesheet, bigger than Musharraf sucking on the blood of the awam.
I think u r missing the point, PPP is in power so it is their duty to clarify all of the things they promised they will if elected and now they are elected they have the duty to fulfill their promises.
And when other parties come in power and if they do not fulfill their promises i will ask them the same question my friend.
If Nawaz Shareef has not paid his taxes so than this PPP should take him to court and make him pay because they are ruling and have the power to do so, they must do it.
About the big case of killing in sialkot, if Punjab Govt. is dragging their feet on it than central Govt. must take notice and pursue the case vigorously my friend and that is how it is done in real democratic societies.
Same goes for fake degrees my friend, if Punjab Govt is doing unlawful things than Federal Govt. has the responsibility to do it. I am all for justice no matter what justice must be done and Central Govt. is the last and the top part of Govt. to do the right thing.

And my next question would be to him that if his party will be elected what it will do about these questions, how would it solve the problems as noted.
See TV anchors have to have imaginations, and they don't go figure.
No wonder we are in trouble. with these kinds of anchors there is no chance. we must replace these unimaginative anchors with imaginative one.
