Farzana Bari and other so-called human rights activists of Pakistan

In Live with Talat's Jan 23rd show, Farzana Bari is making excuses for why she and other humanrights organizations are not making any effort to arrange a protest event for Kamran Faisal. She is claiming that there are just too many sorry events going on in Pakistan and she along with other human rights organizations of Pakistan, simply does not have the time to arrange a protest for Kamran Faisal'ssuspicious death. She further goes on and says that even if she organizes something, only 50 or 60 people will show up. The reason being, Pakistnis arenot interested in Kamran' death.

This woman goes on even further.....she disguises her incompetence along with her lethargic and insensitive attitude towards the death of an honest investigator, in a blame game......she claims that Pakstani nation is "bayhiss"(ignorant) and does not care about such incidents.


Farzana is totally oblivious of the fact that it was the youth and media of pakistan who went after the murderers of shahzeb khan. She and her associated/related organizations did not light any "candles" for shahzeb either. If Pakistanis were ignorant, Shazeb’s murderers would still be roaming free.


Does anyone know which NGO Farzana Bari works for and if that NGO has auditedfinancial statements?


Also, I need a volunteer to help me prepare a video about Farzana and her stances in the past and the related stories behind the incidents. Anyone willing to help? Code-Decode? Please?


We need to show the true faces of these so called human rights activists. Over 13 thousand people have already liked Kamran Faisal's support page. I want this to be shown as a slap on Farzana and her associates' faces. They are nothing but incompetent and ineffective human rights (so-called) activists. They only act when the incident is of a specific interest. Most importantly, they are liars.

I wonder if the likes of Farzana are drawing salaries out of their NGOs? She and her colleagues are too busy in showing only the bad face of Pakistan. Meanwhile, the investigators who are suppose to find the culprits behind the negatives of Pakistan are being murdered and she is showing no interest in their kilings.

You are right. However, she is also camouflaging her lack of interest and priority differences by calling Pakistanis ignorant. She is demoralizing the youth of Pakistan. Which astrologist told her that only 50 or 60 people will show up?

speculations...everyone speculates numbers..but yes, I agree she is underestimating the numbers too much..

LOL just did some research on Farzana's profile. She is a prof at QA university. Her expertise lies in women rights and abuses. I am still struggling to find any NGO related info pertaining to her.

What I find hilarious is that on TV shows I have seen her criticizing the pakistani culture on both physical and PSYCHOLOGICAL abuse of women. Which no doubt is absolutely true. However she always puts blame on male and religion dominated culture of Pakistan. She is always reactive to incidents which have already been reported. She and likes of her have not done an iota of a proactive work. They are only there to blame the weak and poor people and the religion, once something bad has happened.

She never blames the strong and the powerful. For example millions of Pakistani girls are psychologically tortured every day in Pakistan when they are told through tv ads that there is something wrong with them because they have dark skin. They must use “Fair and Lovely” to get rid of the problem. Farzana Bari and the likes of her will never do anything to tackle this psychological abuse because...... firstly, “fair and lovely” is owned by a multinational company – Unilever (Previously – Leverbrothers). Secondly, TV stations are too strong and might go after farzana because of the lost revenues. Lastly, and most importantly the likes of her can’t blame the religion for this psychological torture.


Farzana and likes of her don’t want to solve any problems. They only want to report them, provided that no non-religious financially strong foreign and domestic parties get hurt.

Skin colour discrimination is a big issue in pakistan which affects the lives of people in the country. The worst who get hit by it are females. Even some parents and relatives treat their loved ones differently based on the skin colour. It is psychological torture.

Products like Fair and Lovely” are immoral. I dare Farzana to protect pakistani females from skin colour discrimination and such abusive products. At least gather 50 or 60 people or better yet, just report this prroblem.
