[h=1]Exclusive new revelations about the troubled F-35 program[/h]
It could yet prove to be the most expensive defense purchase in Canadian history -- $25 billion and counting. The military promises it's the best fighter jet available, but some critics are saying it's a turkey hatched from a bad idea: a do-it-all plane that might not do anything well-at-all.
Was Canada pressured to buy the F-35 fighter jet? Will the jet ever deliver on its promise of being the top gun in the sky? Did the government cover up the true costs to win an election? With secret documents and exclusive interviews with Air Force insiders, Gillian Findlay pieces together the troubling story of the F-35. From Lockheed Martin's first prototype and bungled development process to Canada's decision to buy the fighter jet without an open competition, "Runaway Fighter" raises serious questions about a procurement system seemingly run amok and a jetfighter critics say will never live up to its spin.

This is a troubled jet....for PAF, on the firs hand US will never sell it to Pakistan, and secondly, we cannot afford $100mil price tag. There are many other issues when buying a new military hardware, its not just the plane itself.....

sorry bro......mujhey idea nhi hai,,,,,,shyd kr dye hn......wesy aap ny mera naam likh dya hai"shahid" end py:)......

I have a bit interest in aviation , particularly fighter Jets - what i remember is that lot of pilots had complained about getting oxygen intake at certain altitude - i am talking about rapter -it is important that we are talking about nearly 5th generation aircraft , with stealth abilities was a bit of set back as the amount spent on this project is highest ever in the known aviation history - I mean single machine costs over $120 Million...

"Shahid" ? - Good dekhain janaab aap ka naam to log din mein 8 -10 baar le hi lety hein - aap tu mashoor aadmi howe na janaab (bigsmile)

Pakistan's best option is to keep inducting JF-17 until all F-7 are phased out. Go for J-10. Then for the fifth-generation plane, eventually go for the Chinese J-20/J-31.

Postmedia’s Lee Berthiaume has this article:
OTTAWA — National Defence scientists predicted in 2011 that the military would have almost certainly lost several of its brand-new F-35 stealth fighters before all 65 were even delivered, Postmedia News has learned.
In December 2011, the Defence Department’s research arm, Defence Research and Development Canada, published a report in which it said “that the probability of having 63 or more (F-35s) remaining at this time (when the last one is delivered) is approximately 54 per cent.”
Canadian military planners had originally expected to take possession of all 65 of this country’s stealth fighters over a staggered six-year period ending in 2022.
