1998ء کی مردم شماری کے مطابق شہر کی لسانی تقسیم اس طرح سے ہے: اردو بولنے والے 65 فیصد، پنجابی 8 فیصد، سندھی 7.22 فیصد، پشتو 11.42 فیصد، بلوچی 4.34 فیصد، سرائیکی 2.11 فیصد، دیگر 7.4 فیصد۔ دیگر میں گجراتی، داؤدی بوہرہ، میمن، گھانچی، براہوی، مکرانی، بروشسکی، عربی، فارسی اور بنگالی شامل ہیں۔ شہر کی اکثریت مسلمان ہے جن کی تعداد 96.49 فیصد ہے۔ عیسائی 2.35 فیصد، ہندو 0.83 فیصد، احمدی 0.17 فیصد اور دیگر 0.13 فیصد ہیں۔ دیگر میں پارسی، یہودی اور بدھ شامل ہیں۔

یہ تو دو قومی نظریے کی مکمل موت تھی۔

پھر 1971 سے جو محب وطن بیہاری مسلمان بنگہ دیش کے کیمپوں میں پڑے سڑ رہے ہیں، اور مکتی باہنی کے ہاتھوں اپنے ہزاروں لاکھوں پیاروں کو گنوا چکے ہیں اور پاکستان سے محبت کے جرم کی سزا پا رہے ہیں، تو آپ کے صوبے کے اسمبلی کی اکثریت نے یہ انہیں واپس لانے کا بل منظور نہیں کیا۔۔۔۔ اور یہ کہہ کر نہیں کیا کہ پورا پاکستان مل کر ان ڈھائی لاکھ مہاجرین کا بوجھ نہیں اٹھا سکتا۔

[نوٹ:۔ پنجاب میں ہزاروں لاکھوں ہمارے پنجابی بھائی ایسے ہیں جنہوں نے ان محصورین پاکستان کو واپس لانے کے لیے صدق دل سے کوششیں کیں، بشمول وزیر اعلی مرحوم غلام حیدر وائیں صاحب کے۔۔۔ مگر آپکے صوبے کی اکثریت کی بات کر ہی ہوں جس نے ان ڈھائی لاکھ محصورین پاکستان کو قبول کرنے سے انکار کر دیا)۔

مگر کتنے حیرت کی بات ہے کہ پورا پاکستان مل کر ان دو ڈھائی لاکھ پاکستان کے لیے جانوں کی قربانیاں پیش کرنے والے محصورین پاکستان کا بوجھ نہیں اٹھا سکے، اور "پاکستان انکے لیے نہیں" کا نعرہ لگانے لگے۔ مگر جب کراچی کی بات آتی ہے تو تمام زمینی حقائق اور شہر کی مشکلات کو بھول کر "کراچی سب کا " کا نعرہ لگانے لگتے ہیں ؟؟؟

اب آپ صدق دل سے بتلائیں کہ ان ڈبل سٹینڈرڈز پر شکایت پیدا ہو گی کہ نہیں ہو گی؟

میں آپ کی بطور پاکستانی عزت تو کر سکتی ہوں، مگر آپ کے غلط فیکٹ اور فیگرز کو قبول نہیں کر سکتی۔

یہ فیگرز ہیں اس مردم شماری کے جو بذات خود آپکے لیڈر نواز شریف نے 1998 میں کروائی تھی۔ اور اس وقت ایم کیو ایم کے خلاف خوفناک ریاستی آپریشن حکیم سعید کے قتل کے جھوٹے الزام پر چل رہا تھا۔

1999 میں مشرف صاحب حکومت میں آ گئے اور پھر انکے دور میں ایک گولی چلائے بغیر کراچی میں امن و امان رہا اور کہیں پنجابی مہاجر فسادات کی کوئی خبر نہیں آئی۔


اب میرا مطالبہ آپ سے یہ ہے کہ آپ نے جو کہا ہے کہ آپ بجائے اپنے قیاس کے کوئی مستند اعداد و شمار پیش کریں کہ کراچی میں صرف 2 فیصد پنجابی برادران ہیں۔

اسی طرح آپ اپنے قیاس سے کام لینے کی بجائے اخباری تراشے ہمارے حوالے کریں کہ جس میں مشرف دور میں پنجابی برادران کے قتل عام کی ایسی خبریں ہو جن کا آپ اپنے قیاس کی مدد سے الزام لگا رہے ہیں۔

اور حقیقت یہ ہے کہ پرویز مشرف کے آنے کے بعد کراچی میں اہل پنجاب سے نفرت آہستہ آہستہ ختم ہونے لگی کیونکہ اُن وجوہات کا خاتمہ ہونے لگا جس کی وجہ سے یہ نفرتیں پیدا ہوئیں تھیں۔ پرویز مشرف کے دور میں کراچی میں پولیس والے پنجاب سے لا کر نہیں بھرتی کیے گئے اور پہلی مرتبہ ضلعی حکومت کے نظام کے تحت کراچی کی قسمت خود کراچی والوں کے ہاتھوں میں دی گئی، ورنہ اس سے قبل تو مرکزی محکموں میں پنجاب اور صوبائی محکموں میں سندھی اہلیان کراچی کی قست لکھتے بلکہ معذرت کے ساتھ، خراب کرتے چلے آ رہے تھے۔
