I think its important to have degree with skills, it depends country to country.
now let me explain.
In US if you have skills u rock, they dont ask for degree and u may be working with a degree holder on same pay or above depends on ur certification skills etc.
In some EU countries specially in Germany its quite similar.
In UK its similar as well but good to have degree, they won't let u go to managing role in big companies unless have a degree.
If u want to work in Middle East specially in good companies you must have degree.
I have been rejected on many good paying jobs in middle east just because i dont have degree.
My friends are working in Aramco with US/UK passports the only difference is degree.
If u dont want to do a job then start a business, no comparison between them.
