Centaurus mall has imposed Rs. 100 entry fees

Finally!!!!!

Centaurus mall has taken steps to curtail the number of "pindi boys" who have been flocking to the mall after the inauguration of Metro Bus service by imposing Rs. 100 entry fee per person [which excludes almost everyone except unemployed boys :) (my opinion)].

Kashif S. Butt, the marketing manager at the Mall, said the entry coupon was not intended to exclude any class of people.
“We have excluded all women and children, all senior citizens, regardless of where they come from or how much they have from the coupon policy,” Mr. Butt said. “The fact is that because of summer vacations, there are a lot of young people who loiter for hours. This is a business decision to reduce the crowd and improve the experience for our customers,” he added. The mall’s entry coupon policy comes into effect Friday, and will be applied from 8 p.m. to closing time.

It is good to impose an entry fee to discourage window shopping crowds, but why is the long list of exemptions. This is a sign of an uncivilised society, where the law is different for different people. The fee should be applicable to all including the President, PM, COAS, Chief justice and every one regardless of his/her status. When are we going to become a civilised society?

I think it is good step. I have been to the mall but majority of youngsters are their without shopping.
I think they should also impose restrictions on these teenagers regardless of whether they shop or not.
They are there for a fun .

Good step.
Well done

Discrimination is and has always been integral part of sub-continent. It will not go away that easily, at least not in our life time. For 100s of years, people would not marry outside their cast (which is still not eradicated in villages and ruler areas). There is another type of discrimination here where foreigners are charged more than locals whenever and whoever gets the chance to do so. Most of people unfortunately simply do not have the capacity to understand these issues, let alone doing anything about it.

Sometime I just wish that every Pakistani is given an opportunity to live for at least a year and learn about how society work in one of Scandinavian countries. So that they at least know how good the life can be if people are less bigoted towards each other all the time.

It is only sexist when it is against women. They will not complain when they are getting the benefits of gender based discrimination. We are LONG way away from equality in every single sense.

Perhaps it is too much to ask for you to understand that the rules should be SAME for every human being. Weather or not you get your money back is irrelevant. It is the selective ruling I have the problem with.

They should make rules against people who disturb others while shopping if that is the concern. But since sexism is so integral and fundamental part of your religion, you will not understand that making rules based on weather or not you were born with peni$ is quite idiotic.

And this is where you are fundamentally wrong. I'll try to explain it to you. For a sake of an example, let's say there are total of 100 rights. A man has 70 and the woman would get the remaining 30 of those 100 rights. Now no matter what you do, if you try to increase the right of woman, you will have to decrease the rights of man. Saying that, giving more rights to women in western civilized societies, somehow helps man is mindbogglingly wrong (remember, we are not talking about duties). The more right one gender has, the less likely it is that the other gender would be able to control it, till you reach the sweet spot of equality.

Equality says 50 rights for men and 50 for women and striving for any other solution is sexism (which you apparently are vouching for based on your religion). Nobody is talking about putting men and women head to head to fight based on their physical strength. Long gone are the days where physical strength was a deciding factor in day to day life.
