Does anyone know about French military intervention in Central Africal republic and Mali . It real objectives ?.

It was suprising that Muslims are having some kind of administration in central African republic which is supposeldy a non Muslim majority country . In Africa the percentage of Muslims is seriously underreported in official figures.

Many years ago a person from central African republic who briefly converted to Islam was Mr. Bedel Bokassa , who first became Emperor John Bedel Bokassa .

The crusaders for a large part were known amongst Muslims as "Franks" even though many many were not from France. There is something called French Africa and many of these countries are Muslim.

France and French were always complex in politics . As many independent states of India fighting off British like Tipu sultan and Ranjit singh had French military help in the form of generals etc so the impression in Pakistan of the French is a good one . Similarly when USA imposed restrictions after 1965 war French planes were bought and perhaps the most conspicious project was submarines.

Offcourse French cooperated with Marhattas also and subjugated Muslim African countries . France was a power in lebanon , Syria and even Fareast .

France is the only western country which regularly intervenes in African countries militarily for sometimes not so clear reasons. It has been a leader in Europe is initiating cultural measures against Muslims , banning scarfs etc .

France has a very long history of anti-Muslim sentiments. French were the main leaders and major supporter of Crusades (starting 1095). In last 920 years, French have indulged themselves in any war that is against Muslims.

--- I guess, you need to put the today's happenings in Africa in a wider perspective of AFRICOM bases/operations vs. rapidly expanding Chinese investment/infrastructure projects throughout Africa. France has been pursuing a neo-colonial policy in Africa for long, through coups, interventions and supporting dictators to usurp their resources but is losing influence a new struggle is on, to the extent the former colonies can assert or be really independent viz. the French MNCs/investors that they might still need. and then you've the Chinese and the AFRICOM to add to the mix whose HQ is still outside (rumored to move to neighboring Liberia);

--- Historically, the 'Race for Africa' was an extension of imperial rivalry between the European powers (slave trade, sea lanes), born out of their Berlin Conference, that led to a broader division/categorization of Francophone vs. Anglophone Africa that still persists today. The Muslim countries were/are on both sides of this divide, just the way Islam spread across Africa - from the east to the west; it was more by default not by design as such. Most colonial borders, like in South Asia, were later drawn on the paper and so you get largely Muslim areas to the north and predominantly Christian to the south and so gets the resources' location/distribution even more complicated......;

--- The colonists' motivations then and today remain exploitation of Africas wealth, i.e diamonds, gold etc (just as the First Crusade was actually born out of the financial needs of the church and clergy in France). Countries like Congo, Liberia, Ivory Coast are extremely rich but otherwise kept as some of the poorest and most corrupt horrendous massacres by the French in Algeria and the Belgians in Congo plus a long history of bloody Muslim revolts against colonial powers from Sudan to Libya, Senegal, Algeria..

Only had personal experience of working with French people for a short period of 3 months or so and realized that for them, being French is more important than being Christian. This attitude is perhaps seeped in after the Renaissance. No personal experience of their involvement in Mali and/or Central African Republic, all I can refer to is something read only, not practically experienced.

It is not about Mali anymore. Wherever, Talibani Jahilyat will be imposed, the whole world will come rushing to trash these animals. Simple as that:).

France feels that they own these lands being former colonies they have ambitions of ruling again. With a Muslim population of over 5 million themselves they have secret fears of an Islamic takeover, France is very much anti-Muslim/Islam.
