It holds tones and tones of Battery grade Lithium which is the future Energy. Once the oil looses its importance the Lithium will be the virtual oil. What do you think America is doing there. But unfortunately the Americans are the ultimate losers and China is watching patiently to get in. They will do everything to get their hands on this future Energy.

However Saudis and middle eastern countries have nothing to get from CPEC. It just does not make any sense
