The Pakistan Army Lahore Garrison dispatched a consignment of 15 trucks of relief items worth Rs 5.5 million from Fortress Stadium for displaced brethren of Kurram Agency FATA.

This is part of an overall national effort to rehabilitate the families displaced in consequences of our national cause of uprooting the menace of terrorism from the motherland, the Inter-Services Public Relations said in a press release issued here on Saturday. It is estimated that over 30,000 families were displaced during the recent operation against miscreants in Kurram Agency. The items include tents, bedding items, utensils and other articles of daily use.

Philanthropists and civil welfare organisations have also been appealed to join hands with civil administration and Pak Army in their relief efforts to help their brethren in this hour of trial. It is important to mention here that Lahore Corps has established a relief camp at Fortress Stadium for collection of and smooth delivery of relief goods to the displaced people.
