Army back in action in Badin and TMK

Army and Navy jawans are evacuating people marooned in flood-hit areas of Badin and Tando Mohammad Khan. DCOs said on Tuesday that 20 more boats along with 30 water pumping machines were evacuating people and flushing rain water from affected areas.

Floodwater washed away standing crops of onion tomato rice cotton, sugarcane in Badin Tando Mohammad Khan Tharparkar & Mirpurkhas.

In Badin about 1800 villages have been inundated and 144 relief camps have been set up. About 60 breaches occurred in Left Bank Outfall Drain in Badin and 36000 people of more than 100 villages displaced. 15 relief camps were set up in Tando Mohammad Khan. Officials said at least five persons drowned or electrocuted in Badin.

you are wrong. in case of disaster every country army do the relief work .no country has rescue staff that culd handle millions of people.

Troops carry out relief work in rain, flood-affected areas

Army troops carried out relief work in the flood and rain affected areas of interior of Sindh on Wednesday as ration was distributed among 500 families who were affected by last year’s floods in Mehar, Khairpur Nathan Shah and other affected areas of district Dadu.

Officials from Army said that the army constructed 51 houses for the flood affectees in district Dadu’s Nihal Sohag and Ahmed Khan Babar goths.

Several homes, schools and mosques were also renovated in the area and 25 water pumps were also installed.

He said that the troops also assisted the civil administration in relief and rescue work for those affected by the recent rains in Thatta, Badin,Tando Muhammad Khan, Jhuddo and Digri areas.
Free medical camps were also set up and some 20,000 people were treated free of cost.
Meanwhile, the Corps Commander, Lt. Gen. Muhammad Zahir ul Islam, appreciated the services rendered by the army and conveyed this in his message to the troops. Dawn

Karachi—The Pakistan Army handed over 51-houses to the flood-hit families in District Dadu on Wednesday.

According to an ISPR press release issued here, the inhabitants of Goth Ahmed Khan Babar and Goth Nehal Suhag were given the keys of the houses by Corps Commander Lt. General Muhammad Zahirul Islam.

The housing projects were undertaken by the Army through their own resources.

The houses were handed over to the people who had lost their abodes in floods last year. Each house can accommodate one family of five to seven and contains all essential fixtures of daily life.

A sizeable ration package including kitchen utensils were also presented to each house hold. Besides, one school, 12 water pumps and two mosques were also made available to them.

On the occasion, the Corps Commander reaffirmed Pakistan Army’s unflinching commitment to the people and expressed the determination to provide rescue and relief to the rain hit districts of Badin, Thatta, Tando Muhammed Khan and Mirpurkhas. Kalam
