This is mere your optimism (خوش فہمی) that Ummat-e-Muhammadi (pbuh) will not involve in Shirk. In terms of religious life, the Pre-Islamic Arabs held for the most part pagan beliefs, but not to the extent that many assume, since they also believed in a supreme god named Allah, the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, as suggested by the Qur'aan 29: 61 and 63.

Today's Muslims are also following the pre-Islamic Arabs. Who according to Quraan believed that Allah is Supereme Power but still they were involved in Shirk.

Narrated Abu Said: The Prophet said, "You will follow the wrong ways, of your predecessors so completely and literally that if they should go into the hole of a mastigure, you too will go there." We said, "O Allah's Apostle! Do you mean the Jews and the Christians?" He replied, "Whom else?" (Meaning, of course, the Jews and the Christians.)

(Sahih Bukhari,
Book #56, Hadith #662) Source

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: You would tread the same path as was trodden by those before you inch by inch and step by step so much so that if they hadentered into the hole of the lizard, you would follow them in this also. We said: Allah's Messenger, do you mean Jews and Christians (by your words)" those before you"? He said: Who else (than those two religious groups)?(Sahih Muslim; Book #034, Hadith#6448) Source

In the light of above hadeeths, please read the following Hadeeth again!

Jundub reported: I heard from the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) five days before his death and he said: I stand acquitted before Allah that I took any one of you as friend, for Allah has taken me as His friend, as he took Ibrahim as His friend. Had I taken any one of my Ummah as a friend, I would have taken Abu Bakr as a friend. Beware of those who preceded you and used to take the graves of their prophets and righteous men as places of worship, but you must not take graves as mosques; I forbid you to do that. (Sahih Muslim; Book #004, Hadith #1083) Source

To seek help from Prophet Muhammad's pbuh grave is Shirk. That is why the Police (شرطے) remind the people the order of Allah to turn their faces in that direction of Qibla, as mentioned in Quraan:

The correct Islamic belive is that Prophet Muhammad pbuh did not see Allah during Meraj as said by Bibi Aisha (رضی الله تعالیٰ عنہ) in following hadeeth from Sahih Bukhari:

Narrated Masruq: I said to 'Aisha, "O Mother! Did Prophet Muhammad see his Lord?" Aisha said, "What you have said makes my hair stand on end ! Know that if somebody tells you one of the following three things, he is a liar: Whoever tells you that Muhammad saw his Lord, is a liar." Then Aisha recited the Verse: 'No vision cangrasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision. He is the Most Courteous Well-Acquainted with all things.' (6.103) 'It is not fitting for a human being that Allah should speak to him except by inspiration or from behind a veil.' (42.51) 'Aisha further said, "And whoever tells you that the Prophet knows what is going to happen tomorrow, is a liar." She then recited: 'No soul can know what it will earn tomorrow.' (31.34) She added: "And whoever tell you that he concealed (some of Allah's orders), is a liar." Then she recited: 'O Apostle! Proclaim (the Message) which has been sent down to you from your Lord..' (5.67) 'Aisha added. "But the Prophet saw Gabriel in his true form twice." (Sahih Bukhari; Book #60, Hadith #378)

Translation:

Narrated 'Uqba bin 'Amir: One day the Prophet went out and offered the funeral prayers of the martyrs of Uhud and then went up the pulpit and said, "I will pave the way for you as your predecessor and will be a witness on you. By Allah! I see my Fount (Kauthar) just now and I have been given the keys of all the treasures of the earth (or the keys of the earth) "BY ALLAH! I AM NOT AFRAID THAT YOU WILL WORSHIP OTHERS ALONG WITH ALLAH AFTER MY DEATH, BUT I AM AFRAID THAT YOU WILL FIGHT WITH ONE ANOTHER FOR THE WORLDLY THINGS"
Volume 2, Book 23, Number 428: (Sahih Bukhari)

Imam Bukhair narrated in his Sahih in "Heart-Softeners", "Funerals" and "Signs of Prophethood" from 'Uqbah bin 'Amir that:

The Prophet went out and offered the funeral prayer for the martyrs of the (battle of) Uhud and then ascended the pulpit and said, "I am your predecessor and I am a witness against you. By Allah, I am now looking at my Tank-lake (Al-Kauthar) and I have been given the keys of thetreasures of the earth (or the keys of the earth). By Allah! I am not afraid that after me you will worship others besides Allah, but I am afraid that you will start competing for (the pleasures of) this world."

Imam Muslim also narrated this narration in his Sahih. This is a great hadith, which the Muslim scholars over the centuries have taken care to explain and to focus on the jurisprudence that can be derived from it. And these scholars, whether they mastered the science of traditions [Muhaddithoon] or the science of jurispudence [fiqh], or to whatever reliable jurisprudential school of thought they associated with, they did not differ what this hadith meant or implied.

And then came our current era: the era in which we saw the passing away of scholars, and [according to the hadith] knowledge became scant because of their death, and the earth became fertile for the ignorant people to raise their heads, the ones who speak without knowledge and mislead people and sow confusions. History is going to remember them due to their ugly actions, which they did knowingly or unawares. These are the people who distorted the meaning of this hadith and explain in it in such a way which goes against everything which was said about this [by scholars] for the past 14 centuries.

Do you know what is this new [distorted] meaning? It is: that the Islamic nation would never fall into Shirk [associating partners with Allah] , and that there is hence no need to warn the Muslims about Shirk, since they are free from any possibility of indulging in Shirk. This, brothers, is a very dangerous matter, because the distortion of clear and obvious meaning is aimed at pulling down the pillars of Islam and its summit [tahuheed: monotheism].

Let's see what the scholars have said about the hadith:

Imam Al-Nawawi in Sharh Al-Muslim:

"This hadith shows the miracles of the Prophet sallallaho'alaihiwasallam: It gives news the his nation will possess the treasures of the earth, and this came to pass; that the Islamic nation [Ummah] would not apostate as a whole, and it [the Ummah] is saved from it by Allah, i.e. it [the Ummah] would compete [with each other in the pleasures ] in this world, and all of it came to pass".

Ibn Hajra said explaining this hadith in Book of Funerals of Sahih Al-Bukhari

"His saying that i am not afraid that you would commit shirk after me, means that i am not afraid that all of you would commit shirk, because some people did fall into shirk, may Allah Protect us from that. This hadith contains miracles of the Prophet sallallaho'alaihiwasallam and that is why Bukhari mentioned it in the Book of Signs of Prophethood".

Then ibn Hajr explained this in the Book of Signs of Prophethood of Sahih Al-Bukhari:

"His saying that I am afraid that you will start competing for (the pleasures of) this world: It contains warning of what will happen [in the future] and it came to pass as he said; they started having many conquests and victories till such a time that they started envying each other and fighting each other [for worldly gains] as can be seen and felt by anyone. This bears witness to truth of what the Prophet sallallaho'alaihiwasallam informed. And this hadith also contains the news that he is their 'farat' i.e. predecessor [i.e. he would die earlier than them? (allahu a'alam) or that he would be before them at the Kawthar pond, as in the other hadith] and it came to pass, and that the his Companions would not commit shirk after him and that came to pass ...."

So the scholars are unanimous that this hadith addresses the Companions who were present at the time, not every one who believed in him at the time [as some apostated later], and of course not the whole of his Ummah.

It is narrated in “Sunnan Tirmidhi”, chapter “Description of Judgment Day”, Eng trans. Darussalam, v 4 p 468, Hadith 2462:

Al-Mustawrad bin Makhramah narrated that 'Amir bin 'Awf informed him- and he was an ally of Banu 'Amr bin Lu'ay who had participated with the Messenger of Allah (saw) at (the battle) of Badr, he said: “The Messenger of Allah (saw) had dispatched Abu Ubdaidah bin Al-Jarrah, so he arrived with the wealth from Al-Bahrain. When the Ansar had heard of the arrival of Abu 'Ubaidah they were attending Salat al-Fajr. So the Messenger of Allah (saw) performed the Salat and when he finished, they assembled before him. The Messenger of Allah (saw) smiled when he saw them, then he said: 'I think that you heard that Abu 'Ubaidah has arrived something?' They said: “'Yes O Messenger of Allah!' He said: 'Then receive good news, and hope for what will please you. By Allah! It is not poverty that I fear for you, but what I fear for you is that the world will be presented for you just as it was presented for those before you, then you will compete for it, and it will destroy you, just as it destroyed them.”

Clear Ahadith telling that some people of this community will commit Shirk

Shaykh Salih Ale Shaykh wrote in his “Hazihi Mafahimuna”:

“It is narrated by Ahmad in his Musnad (5/275, 284), Abu Dawud in his Sunnan (4252), Ibn Majah (3952), Al-Hakim (4/449) and others from Thawban that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: “The Hour will not come until some tribes of my community join the polytheists and until some tribes of my community worship the idols”, these words are those of Ahmad and Abu Dawud and the Isnad is authentic according to standard of Muslim…Also Muslim narrated from Aishah in a Marfu way: “The night and day will not disappear until Lat and Uza are worshiped

As long as you are confident in your heart about your belief, no such insinuations will hurt you (inshaa' Allaah). If a doubt strikes a believer or something appears to him as a conflict between different textual sources of Shari'ah, he must believe that indeed for such doubts there are true answers and for such apparent conflicts there are solutions even if he doesn’t know it or is unable to find the right answer himself. However, a person should not collect all the doubts in his heart and worry about the complexities and leave aside the learning of useful knowledge. This is because it is incumbent upon a Muslim to learn and know things which have been clearly described (Muhkamaat) in Shari'ah so that he may be able to repel the doubts.

It is a known fact that legislation differs from one Shari'ah to another, while the principles and beliefs remain the same in all of them. So, making of portraits was allowed in the Shari'ah of Sulayman (peace be upon him) but is prohibited in our Shari'ah. Similarly, making prostration of salutation was permitted in the Shari'ah of Yusuf (peace be upon him) but is illegal in ours. Also, war booty was prohibited for nations before us but it is completely legal for us. The Qiblah of people before us used to be towards Bayt Al-Maqdis, but for us it is towards Ka'bah. In a similar way, marriage between brothers and sisters was permitted in the Shari'ah of Adam (peace be upon him) as opposed to those that came afterwards. The following is a clarification on the issue by Haafidh Ibn Katheer, who said:

Allaah allowed Adam (peace be upon him) to marry his daughters to his sons for necessity. Every couple used to have a boy and a girl. Hence, he married the girl of one couple to the boy of another. This is said by Suddi regarding what has been narrated by Abu Maalik and Abu Salih, from Ibn ‘Abbas, by Murrah from Ibn Mas‘ood and by other companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) that Adam did not have (in his grandchildren) a baby boy unless it was accompanied by a girl, so he married the male of a couple to the female of another, and the female of a couple to the male of another.

Unfortunately their is a school of thought in Pakistan who does not agree with the Hadeeth of Bibi Aisha (رضی الله تعالیٰ عنہ), May Allah give hidayat to them (Aameen).

Yeh koi nahi keh sakta keh Ummat e Muslimah poosri ki poori mushrik hay(Asrtaghfirullah), laikin jo log khuli (Naked) Shrirk main mubtila hain woh to yaqeenan mushrik hain, ap key mannay ya na mannay say kuch nahi hota, kionkah jo koi Allah ki Zaat, Ibadat ya Asmaa o Siffat main kisi makhlooq ko shareek samjhay wo mushrik hay. Baqee Allah ko Khaliq to Makkah kay mushrik bhi mantay thay, laikin un logon ney lat, manat, uzza ka tawassul thama tha app logon nay abdul qadir jilani aur doosray hazaron, lakhon peeron ko apna sifarshi muqarrar kiya hay, main kehta hoon un logon ney yeh to nahi kaha tha keh un ke idols kaynat ka nizam chala rahay hain, laikin aap logon ka to yaha tak manna hay keh kaynat ghaus, abdal waghaira ke baghair aik lamhay kayleyey qayam nahi reh sakta. bas yeh kehna baqi hay keh zameen o asman ke paidayesh ke waqt ap ke peer maujood thay aur un ka bhi is ki pida karnay main hath hay. So where did Imam Nawai and Imam Ibn Hajar claim that People will Commit shirk ?? (bigsmile)

Also do you now believe that the Prophet pbuh had Ilm ul Ghayb as this Hadith is a miracle right ? (bigsmile)

Obviously this Hadith is in reference to the smaller shirk of holding "things" more important than Allah swt. !

So now are you ready to accept the Taqleed of these two Imam's  ?/

So then you will also agree on this verdict of Imam Hajr Ra about graves from his book ??

Every believer has a desire to visit the Blessed Grave of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) during his life time. Some even spend their entire earning just to have a glimpse of it. But unfortunately some people from the minority sect have started corrupting the innocent minds of Muslim ummah and thereby misleading them with false information. These extremists declare the act of traveling to visit the Blessed Grave of Prophet(صلى الله عليه وسلم) as Biddah (Innovation) and Haram. This was propagated by Ibn Taymiyyah al-Zindeeq whose verdict Imam Ibn Hajr al Asqalani (rah) rightly refutes

Shaykh ul Islam, Imam Ibn Hajr al-Asqalani (rah) destroys Ibn Taymiyyah by saying in his world renowned Sharh of Sahih Bukhari called Fath ul Bari: "THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST UGLY THINGS REPORTED FROM IBN TAYMIYYAH"

[Fath ul Bari, Sharh Sahih ul Bukhari (3/386)]

In the end Imam Ibn Hajr al-Asqalani (rah) destroys the viewpoint of Ibn Taymiyyah and his ilk by proving travel for graves of Awliya let alone Anbiya, Ibn Hajr says:

So the Qawl (saying) of him is proven Batil (فيبطل) who says its forbidden to make journey towards ‘’Qabr Shareef’’(of Rasul Ullah salallaho alaihi wasalam) and other graves of ‘’Saliheen’’ (قبور الصالحين), and Allah knows the best. [Fath ul Bari, ibid]
