We have heard such BS before not so long ago. Pakistan was going to provide military bases to the US no matter what. We all know how that turned out.

You disregard one important factor. These Afghans aren't just bitter or angry. These Afghans are driven by the belief that certain Pak territory belongs to their nation. You cannot reason with that. This isn't just frustration or suffering. The Afghans are disputing demarcated borders.

Their anger is more politically motivated and because of internal ethnic politics and of course out of frustration. We have to deal with it wisely and with brotherhood History, cultural and and economic realities, demographic of Pakistan have already fully answered to them. We do not need to discuss this futile topic with them.
Even a nationalist like Sardar Daud was ready to accept the reality (however now their acceptance matters nothing to Pakistan but needs some courage within their internal politics.
There's one easy answer for who put claim to pak areas on historical and ethnic grounds. First they need to divide Afghanistan into 5 regions and correct ' their own history' and only then they may talk to us.

IMO, Our politics and behavior has to be forward looking and not reactive.
First: most of afghan refugees will not go back however they have close family ties within Afghanistan. That's the reality if you see the demographics of Refugees
Second:, we cannot afford militancy or even a full blown political conflict in the integration phase of KP-tribal area..
Third: Tribal along the border have families and cultural/economic ties. That cannot ( and shouldn't )be totally cut off by a border or a fence.
Fourth: Afghanistan is economically dependent and integrated with Pakistan. Whatever happen, these relations will grow further as Afghanistan will progress.. India has no threat or even relevance in this respect. We should facilitate Kabul business to invest as partners beyond political ties..
Out mutual future is peace in the coming decades - Hopefully this war phase will be over within a decade.

There is absolutely no discussion regarding Pakistani land. The Afghans are free to live in their paranoid world.

In many cities of Pakistan, these Afghani refugees were given big houses for free to live by people of Pakistan as a brotherhood gesture. But while returning to their country, these afghanis damaged these houses badly and left them in a shape that no one could live there.

most of these Afghans are going to be anti Taliban type Afghans if they decide too leave. Let's be honest there is no room for them in Pakistan, I am not saying this through hate but being realistic.

Pakistan already has enough Afghan brothers inside Pakistan, allowing more of them in could be detrimental to society. Unless youballow them in and find a suitable area for them until things get better in Afghanistan.

IT all depends on whether there is peace in Afghanistan or not.
