Following PTI - What About Being Muslim?
Many of you find this article as Religious in nature, so it might get deleted on some forums, however, I have tried to ask a specific question from a specific Political Party. Yes, it is a mix of religious and political nature but it is important.
Let me ask it straight away: Is Quran a S**y book, just as explained in this video? Is Islam a S**y religion, as our famous "Salman Ahmed" is stating in this video?
If Your Answer is Yes
I will appreciate if you can convince me for this. What part of My Quran and what part of My Islam makes you think so? I will wait for your comments.
If Your Answer is No
Then what do you think about this man? Should we, by any means, honor him being Muslims? Do you think it's Blasphemy? I am confused about blasphemy myself, but the problem is, abusing Quran means you are abusing its Writer and the Messenger who conveyed this message to us from the Writer. Is it Blasphemy? Question !
The Hatred Against Salman Rushdi
I bet 97% of you good folks have never read what Rushdi wrote in his "The Satanic Verses" and even then you guys hate him. I hope it doesn't fall in blasphemy act, but Salman Rushdi created a fiction where his characters were analogous to Muslim's sacred personalities like Prophet Muhammed PBUH, angel Gabriel and Ayesha RA. What was seriously wrong is that he made up an analogous incident where Prophet Muhammed PBUH (NaoozuBiLLAH) forgets an Ayah and recite it with totally different meaning, result of which is the Satan being praised. (NaoozuBiLLAH)
I am not the Devil's Advocate here, but an interesting fact is that this controversial incident has been inscribed in few of Islamic History books. It is disputed by some of the early Muslim historians, especially (Muhammad ben Yasar) Ibn Ishaq (d. 768 CE), (Muhammad Abu 'Abdullah Ibn Umar) al-Waqidi (747-822 CE), (Muhammad Ibn Muslim Ibn Shihab) al-Zuhri (d.741 CE), Muhammad Ibn Sa'd (d. 845 CE), al-Tabari (c. 839-923 CE), Ibrahi. Ibn Hisham, Ibn Ishaq's editor, omits the passage, but it is preserved as a quotation from al-Tabari, in Guillaume's translation of Ibn Ishaq (Ishaq 165-166. See Muir, pp.lxxix-lxxx).
The point is, there was a dispute in our history and Rushdi made a story of it. Blasphemous or not, it's your decision. I personally feel a big Yes for it.
The Modern Ignored Blasphemy
So there he is, Mr. Salman Ahmed. You must have seen the video available in the beginning of this article. I ask thee again, is it acceptable what he just said???? I think it's even bigger blasphemy then Rushdi's, for Salman Rusdhi had a disputed incident he mocked, whereas Salman Ahmed is generally hitting Quran and Islam both, without any obvious reason.
It's 23rd March Jalsa and Salman Ahmed is the Guest - PTI
Call it a propaganda or whatever, but being Muslim, I ask you a simple question: How good is it to support, endorse or feature Salman Ahmed in your official gatherings? We may dope, we may smoke and we may drink - We can be so wrong - but we never abuse Islam and Quran, what about this situation? Are you still defending Imran Khan? Even if you do, should he (Salman) be there? Shouldn't he be avoided by everyone?
Do You Follow PTI, Are You Muslim Too?
We have three levels of Belief. Stop a sin by force when you see it. Speak against it if you don't have power to fight for it. Say it wrong in your conception if you don't have power even to speak. Dear PTI folks, I understand and respect you being my brother, but the question is, are you Muslim too??? Won't you speak at least against honoring him and inviting him in your gatherings? Despite of all political differences, we are all Pakistani and we are all Muslims. Are we united for anything against our Holy Book, our Religion??? I am not in favor of death penalty against blasphemy but the other extreme, i.e. something in this video, what about it?
