the resentment of this NL supporter is understandable, there is no doubt about the role of military in politics, nobody can justify the game played by Zia and others, but on the other side we have to understand, that this kind of elections, parliament and democracy, is not even workable, as a nation we were never fair with the east Pakistan, in the very beginning,our politicians were complete failure, accepting pakistan as id was divided, in to parts 1000 miles away from each other then. the control of the water sources was in the hands of india, and our survival was depending on the assumption of getting control over Kashmir, declaing Urdu as our only national language(what about the bengali, the language of majority)there was no institution and no serious attempt was made to create them, even the constitution was not drafted in first five years and what was drafted was just a modified copy in indian independence act. where as the army was very organised and disciplined from the day one, the integrity of the country was depending on the military, then and now. we are living in a world of dreams, we don't wat work hard and get things done, no we don't want take any responsibilities but praying for success, Allah only help those who work for it the right way. the reality is that DEMOCRACY is a foreign element in our societym we are for away from if, we need to built the institutions, educate the people, right now we some kind of a national govt. a combination of elected and selected person, representation of every part of the country, military and civil bureaucracy is a reality, made them apart of the governing body, religion is a solution for every problem, don't let anybody to use it for the exploitation, feudalism and concentration of all the resources in few hands must be discouraged, we need to concentrate on education, even distribution of wealth, health, birth control. the bottom line is this , tha fair election is only a dream, we have to go a long way to get to that stage, right now what can get or getting is ,parliament of , elected and selected person, and from there we can move forward, still its an achievement, that instead of military outhoritan rule we are getting, some share, we have got the courage to ,to point out the felonies of powerful persons. its ideal to change the things right away, but practically its not possible, like has tried to change the things quickly but his timing was not right, can;t fight all the power centers at the same time.
