Dr zakir naik has no idea what the real message of the quran is or what actual deen of islam is. In fact he has no idea how to try and understand the quran properly. He is just dishing out nonsense of mullas amongst the educated ignorant who never use their minds for thinking things through thoroughly.
The main solution muslims can offer each other and rest of humanity is correct interpretation of the quran in light of real world realities ie a rational interpretation of the quran. So long as muslims will not let people know true message of the quran they will keep on suffering terribly by hands of each other as well as by hands of rest of humanity.
This is consequence of hiding truth with falsehood. The quran tells us stories of past rulers, money lenders and mullas etc how they clothed the divine truth with their falsehood and made fools of people and as a result suffered terribly by hands of each other. As for deen of islam being spread by sword, no one ever spread deen of islam by sword because there was no ummah based upon deen of islam in a kingdom after the fall of khilaafah based kingdom that was brought about by final messenger of God.
Later people were a combination of rulers, money lender, mullas, their touts and supporters who used name of islam to spread their kingdoms and yes they used sword just like all other kings and emperors etc. Deen of islam based upon the quran is not known by many even today otherwise we will not have rulers, money lenders and mullas running muslim countries for fulfilling their own personal agendas at the expense of ummah and rest of humanity.
Human beings are suffering painfully in terrible agony by hands of each other not because of muslims but because of their own ignorance and arrogance for being negligent of message of God for them regardless of what they claim to be. Paying lip service to message of God or deen of islam has no benefits for mankind but only and only bad news That is because if you are told how to live in this world properly by God and you ignore it and do your own thing then how can you blame God for it or anyone else? It is people who make this world what it is not God. God has given this world to people along with his guidance to manage it properly for their own good so rest is up to people themselves.
